What did YOU do that screwed the Red Sox Royally

Not saying I’m superstitious, but never watched the Sox because they seemed to lose when I did. October 2, 1978 got home from school and, after playing outside for a little while, came in and turned on the TV. What I saw was Roy White single and after an out Bucky F‘no Dent hit his homer. I...

True Stories About Old Red Sox

Growing up in Hampden,ME, a bunch of us kids were always playing baseball in a friends backyard. Across the street a sportswriter named Bud Leavitt lived there. Bud wrote about fishing, hunting etc for the Bangor Daily News. One of Bud’s good friends was Ted Williams. Mr. Williams would go...

    Pick one team to see

For me it’s the D-Backs here in Arizona. Late enough in the year where hopefully the Sox brings some youngsters up and the D-Backs are really fun to watch due to their youth and now quality pitching staff.

    Trade vets for OPP?

While the idea of trading our vets for prospects is a great thought, we really don’t have a lot of true veterans to trade. You mentioned Story, Yoshida and Devers. Story IMO is more important than just what he brings to the field. He is a leader in the clubhouse. He has his camp to help...

    Is this a playoff team?

I think they are a playoff, albeit wild card team right now. My question is will the pitching hold up? The lineup and defense have versatility and depth if you count Campbell and Anthony. Once in the playoffs, anything can happen.

WILL the Sox add another player and if so, who?

Just my opinion but I still think they are going to overpay in years for Bregman. There has no thing that has been said or written, just a gut feeling.

Positional Switches - good or bad?

It takes a special player, physically and mentally to thrive after a position change. Cal Ripken Jr was a solid SS and as he got older, the O,s wanted tManny Alexander to take over. Granted Alexander didn’t last so they signed Mike Bordick to be their shortstop. Ripken has always said it was...

    How old are you?

The day I was born the Red Sox blasted 3 whole hits while defeating the Kansas City Athletics 2-1. Joe Foy hit his 11th Homer of the season while Reggie Smith and Mike Ryan contributed hits. Captain Carl, Boomer Scott and Tony C held hitless. Gary Waslewski out dueled Catfish Hunter for the win.

    24-25 CFB Playoff Quarterfinals

Iowa State was the same (albeit not as drastic) and ASU came up big. I think there is something special about this team. Skattebo reminds me of Alvin Kamara and can carry an offense running and catching Out of the backfield.

24-25 CFB non-playoff/FCS bowl game thread

I have a question. Does the FCS allow HBCU teams in the playoffs? I see teams like Jackson State competing for the HBCU “Championship” and sometimes their records are good enough for the playoff.
