    Favorite Sports Card Set

I always liked the lowercase text and the Baseball Thrills in the 1959 set. I got some baseball cards from my dad and these were in there.

    Sports Cards Mania

It doesn't give you the same rush as ripping, but buying singles is the way to go. I wanted a Pedroia card in his Portland Sea Dogs gear (I am from Maine) and I could have ripped a ton of 22 Pro Debut to find one. Instead, I saved a bunch of money by waiting and picking it up on eBay for $45...

What's your most treasured baseball card of a Sox player?

My favorite card is my 1955 Topps Ted Williams. This shelf of cards came from my dad. They are rough around the edges but I will keep them forever.

    Sports Cards Mania

My goal is to get a collection of the starting 5 for the 1961 Fleer basketball Boston Celtics. This will take a while due to the cost of the cards (looking for low grade cards that still look half decent) and my budget is small, but I am going to try to pick away at it.

I have been staring at this for over a year and finally got the deal I was hoping for to be able to pick it up. Living in Maine makes the Portland Sea Dogs styling extra cool.

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

I was frustrated by the YouTube TV increase, so I looked at Fubo. To get Fubo in 4k with the sports stations, they charge $90/month. Then they charge you a $14.95 regional sports fees. With other fees and taxes, it came out to around $115-120/month. I can get cable for a year through...

Your last paragraph sums it up quite nicely. I would love to buy a box of cards just to have fun ripping, but everything is way out of my price range. I have gotten to the point where I save my money for specific singles instead.

Do we need a Celtics Announcing thread?

Scal is fine, but there is one thing that he ALWAYS seems to do. He will be really upset by a call, then when they show the replay, he quietly says that the refs got it right. He does this at least once a night and my wife and I have a drinking game based around this. Yes, my life is sad.

    Sports Cards Mania

This post is fantastic. What I do now is get the occasional blaster box/hanger pack to scratch the itch of opening a pack of cards, but mostly buy singles. I took some of my money and used it to make a Larry Bird shelf (one card of Larry Bird from every year he was in the league) instead. I...
