    2019-2020 Celtics Regular Season Thread

As much as I want to see TL back, I think I'd rather see him come back against Brooklyn. Houston's going to be a tough matchup and I really, really want to beat them :)

Jayson Tatum Needs His Own Thread

With regards to the All-NBA team, what are the implications for Tatum's contract? Specifically, if he gets All-NBA this year - I assume it increases the contract extension he can sign this summer? If he doesn't win this year, but he wins NEXT year - it doesn't have the same contract...

The hard part about this is getting the teams below Memphis to win some games :)

    Daniel Theis: More beast per-pound

Not that it matters, but next year is not even guaranteed. The only unfortunate thing is that the Celtics do need to think about life after Theis, as he'll be a UFA at the end of the 2020-2021 season. As much as we discuss the evolution of the NBA game, I do still think the Celtics do need...

    Jaylen Brown re-signs for 4 years/$115 million

I also don't think Minnesota is moving KAT. They just brought in his best buddy so that he'll be happier while they miss the playoffs for the next ten years. I think having two young wings is a great foundation to build on. I think the more interesting question is what do they put around them...

Grizzlies losers of 3 straight now, but no movement in the standings yet.

Can Tacko play a second year in the G-league, or do you think some other team will give him an NBA job?

    Jaylen Brown re-signs for 4 years/$115 million

Trading within the division is of course quite challenging, but what about Kemba for Simmons? I'd think that would make Philly better. I think it would give Boston a really young and talented core.

You must have forgotten about Yabusele :)

    Kemba Walker to Boston

Just because Synvisc is indicated for osteoarthritis, and Kemba is taking Synvisc, doesn't mean that Kemba has OA.

    Our ownership group

It's frustrating that the ownership couldn't be more honest about the Mookie trade. People will disagree about the value of resetting the CBT, but to say that the trade had nothing to do with the CBT is a lie, and everyone knows it. It's insulting to the fans. They could have just said "Look, we...

He also missed 5 3P, if I recall correctly. With Kemba on the floor and/or a more normal shooting day for Hayward, they win that game.

    Memphis Grizzlies 2019-2020

A lot of the season has already gone by, which is weird because the All-Star Game just happened and you think of that as the mid-way point, but it's really not. I think NOL has a good shot at making the playoffs with Zion back. Brooklyn is an interesting case because Irving is gone for the...

    Getting Smart with Statistics

Is it just me, or does Smart have 1-2 drives per game that result in him throwing up the absolute ugliest of shots? I can't tell if he thinks (or was) fouled and he doesn't get the calls, or what it is. But, it seems like every single game he has a couple of these crazy, short range shots that...

It's a shame how unpopular Horford has become in Philadelphia so quickly. I wonder if he realizes he made a mistake.

NFL expanding playoffs; potentially adding 17th game

What's the status of the television deals? Adding a 17th game seems like a big revenue boost for the networks. I assume the owners aren't wanting to do this just for the ticket revenue.

    Mr. Chemistry

Well, there's really little motivation for him to play this year. With Durant out, this was going to be a lost year anyway. I'm sure he wouldn't enjoy another playoff humiliation - especially if it happened to come against the Celtics.

So, with Kyrie out is Brooklyn now looking at a potential #5 seed? :)

    I Believe in Time Lord...Why Can't You?

I think if a half-way decent big became available on the buyout market, the Celtics would be rather foolish not to kick the tires on him. That does NOT mean cutting TL - he's not getting cut. But, they could look at whether the big was an upgrade over Poirier and/or whether the big was worth...

    2020 NBA Draft

How does draft and stash work? If the Celtics draft an international player and they play for some team in Europe, are they paid the salary they would have made in the NBA? Does it count against the cap? I would still like it if the Celtics had a younger player who was taller than 6'8" in their...
