Whoa. Jahanbakhsh bicycle kick. Wow.
I don't know a lot about him, but seeing the reaction from him and from his teammates when he finally scored on Saturday, and then that remarkable score right there, hard not to be really happy for the guy.
Nice to have three points in the bag before the sun comes up. Other than the last 10 minutes of the first half, when Bournemouth applied some good pressure, it was a fairly comfortable win for Brighton. As good as Mooy has been this season it's about time he got his first goal. And Dan Burn had...
Ian Darke on the call and Ali Jahanbakhsh with his first goal for Brighton after a year and a half. Only his second appearance this season. What a bonus if they start getting some production from him. Lots of energy in this game so far.
Maupay and Propper on the bench and Lewis Dunk not in the 18 for Brighton. 'Arry Kane had a goal taken away for breathing offside, and Brighton just turned a phantom tackle/yellow card into a goal off the free kick. 1-0.
I'm just delighted for Brighton's two 5:30 a.m. (mountain time) kickoffs in the next three days. Interested to see how many regulars rest at Spurs to be better positioned for a more winnable three points at home against Bournemouth.
Real nice win for Brighton, first ever road win at Highbury/Emirates. I realize Arsenal is in the crapper at the moment, but still. Lots of good ball movement, positive play. That was a lively game.
Quick turnaround for Wolves at the Amex on Sunday. That's a winnable--and loseable--match.
It's semifinal time.
Tonight: LAFC v. Seattle, 7 p.m. Pacific Time, ESPN
Tomorrow: Atlanta v. Toronto, 8 p.m. Eastern Time, FS1.
The L.A. stadium is about 20 miles from the nearest fire. There's talk of water breaks if air quality is an issue.
What a blast by Pascal Gross. Probably should have been saved but damn that was a laser.
Gross is an interesting player. He's near the top of the league in chances created, but he's sure slow afoot.
At any rate, 1-0 to the Albion.
Zlatan is certainly.... judicious with his energy expenditure. But these Trafico games are always white-knucklers. Kind of a shame it's late on a Thursday night although this time of year that might be better than fighting for eyeballs on a football/World Series weekend.
Edit: And just like...
Georgia just got bailed out with a flag on 4th and goal. This is the ballgame, they are right down close inside two minutes still down a score.
Edit: TD Georgia. 'Cocks have 1:48 and three timeouts to go kick a field goal.
