NFL expanding playoffs; potentially adding 17th game

2 in Mexico, 4 in London, 4 in Canada, 2 in Germany, 1 in China (doubt this will happen now), a Hall of Fame game (?)...and now I am stretching...

2019-20 Providence College Hoops: Just Add Shooting

Up to 54 in KenPom. That 4-1 record they need is now 3-1. I still think that even 4-1 doesn't do the job the loss is to Villanova. Obviously, that wouldn't be a bad loss, but it would be a bigger win, if that makes sense.

Joe Posnanski's top 100 Baseball Players of All Time

Doing some research on Jody Reed...he was drafted 5 times! Twice in 82 (January and June drafts), 83 June, 84 June and then 92 Expansion Draft (Rockies...I know this is cheating a little bit). The Google says that there was a player (Matt Harrington) drafted 5 straight years in the amateur...

Toucher and Rich --- Everyone Else Has Some Work To Do

I think they replayed Mike Gorman calling in yesterday to tell a story. He said at the open they would play it again at 7

Huffing & Puffing: Aubrey Huff Not Invited To Giants 2010 World Series Reunion

WTF is wrong with that? Flags fly forever. The Giants may need some help getting butts in the seats. Give the fans some sentimental moments.

Huffing & Puffing: Aubrey Huff Not Invited To Giants 2010 World Series Reunion

I think I saw somewhere (maybe even on SoSH) that he was relatively harmless on Twitter (just a little overly political and Pro-Trump) and then how wife left him and....BOOM

I mean, whatever, but that was so clearly goaltending

    RIP Tony Fernandez

Your memory serves you correctly. In 136 games and 558 PA, he slashed .329/.380/.435 against the Sox. Much better than his career .288/.347/.399 line.

Joe Posnanski's top 100 Baseball Players of All Time

That is quite the hot take. The way you framed your response is that you don't think there was an unspoken agreement to keep African-Americans out of baseball, and that JoePos was wrong to assert that notion.

The Athletic: The Astros stole signs electronically in 2017 part of a much broader issue for Major League Baseball

This whole cheating scandal might actually be good for baseball. I haven't been this excited for a season for non-Red Sox reasons since Barry Bonds was breaking the game. Astros games are going get huge ratings.

Joe Posnanski's top 100 Baseball Players of All Time

Maybe my reading comprehension is off...but are you suggesting that MLB owners did not collude an keep African-Americans out of the game during Robinson's time and the preceding 5 decades or so?

Not to mention, Napier points to the bench it looks like. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Portis thought he was calling for the ball.

Joe Posnanski's top 100 Baseball Players of All Time

I am willing to be convinced otherwise...but today is the first time I disagreed with Joe on a player. Not on the ranking, per se, I am on board with how he is doing that part. But is Yogi Berra really one of the top-100 players of all-time? If he put him in there for his stories, then that...

    2020 TB12: What Does 2020 Hold for 12?

Really? What if your response is to millions of people instead of one (or the few hundred or so followers your friend has). That makes it much more deliberate, no?

Toucher and Rich --- Everyone Else Has Some Work To Do

Obviously, I have no intimate knowledge, so this is pure speculation. I don't think it was brought up in this thread, but a few months ago, Fred said that he was going to go a month (I think he specifically said 30 days) without drinking. They had a solid 15 minute discussion on when day "1"...
