    7/10: Let's Try This

Just saw the replays of those. Pretty amazing to have the 2 worst defensive plays of the year happen consecutively with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 9th inning against a team you're tied for 1st with, after taking a lead in the top of the 9th. I guess it would be worse in the playoffs.

    7/5: Houck vs Cortes

Is Torres to Cabrera a downgrade?

    7/5: Houck vs Cortes

Well, the Yankees have lost their last 46 games, so this one should be pretty easy. Houck: 7-6, 2.67 ERA, 5 HR allowed Cortes: 4-7, 3.51 ERA, 14 HR allowed Lineup: B. Rice 1B J. Soto RF A. Judge DH A. Verdugo LF G. Torres 2B A. Wells C A. Volpe SS T. Grisham CF D. LeMahieu 3B Fun fact - the...

    7/4: Montas vs. Stroman

Sorry for not being here in forever, I was kind of traveling for work, then when I got back the Yankees were already terrible and my desire to be around them was lower. I'll start the thread for tonight

    6/18 - Cortes vs. Suarez

I really don’t care that much about the intent part of these HBPs. If you’re wild enough to injure guys, it’s still completely your fault. It sucks for the league too, they don’t benefit from Betts and possibly Judge missing a lot of games.

    6/16: Rubber match

That was Gleyber's work, unfortunately. He wanted to have a good AB but couldn't 100% commit to it. Really, really rough. If he takes that pitch, Kelly is likely still off his game facing Trevino

    6/16: Rubber match

I'm not offended by it or anything (losing Rizzo, if thats what happened, i will somehow survive) but was that a rare minorly dirty baseball play? Seemed kind of unnecessary how Bernadino bodied him. Maybe his momentum did it, not sure

    6/15: Rodon v. Criswell

I believe for the first time all season (unless I missed it in the last couple days), the Yankees now lead MLB in both runs scored per game (5.10) and runs allowed per game (3.24), which is pretty hard to do. I think they hit this mark on occasion during their insane 1st half of 2022 as well...

Gerrit Cole: Ace Is The Place

Cole talk- - Pro is that he looked like he has AAA figured out, 10k's in 4 1/3 innings - Con is only 70 pitches, so they have a path to saying he should do one more start there to build up. I think they call him up anyway and just let him go 5 innings, but we'll see...

    6/14: Gil vs. Bello

That went well. 14 Ks vs 5 hits allowed sounds like a good ratio

    6/14: Gil vs. Bello

Even when he's going well, Stanton will just occasionally have an at-bat that is reminiscent of how you'd play a video game if you were not really paying attention

    6/14: Gil vs. Bello

The last 6 Sox batters have struck out consecutively to a combination of Tommy Kahnle and Caleb Ferguson. Feels like the odds of that happening at the outset were low

    6/14: Gil vs. Bello

Very difficult to enjoy Kahnle's work. His stuff isn't good enough anymore to have awful command. I know he partially salvaged that against the bottom of their lineup, but just made every mistake to start it

    6/13 - Cortes vs. Marsh

Just watched that half inning, and the day thing clearly seems to be a thing, because they just weren't seeing the ball at all. - Judge strikes out on a hanging slider on the inner half, belt high - Verdugo strikes out on a head-high pitch that was also a foot outside - Gleyber is way off...

    6/13 - Cortes vs. Marsh

10 hits, 11 hits, currently 0 hits. The light of the sun is a powerful force I guess

    6/13 - Cortes vs. Marsh

Marsh has dramatically lowered his walk rate this year, from 2021-2023 he was around ~4.5 BB/9 combined at every level from AA to the majors, and this year he's 2.55 BB/9 in MLB. Soto may elevate that on his own, we'll see

    6/12 - Poteet vs. Altavilla

There's always one guy every series or 2 that for no apparent reason or prior success has amazing ABs every single time they come up. Kyle Isbel. Line drives only. 8 pitch ABs

    6/12 - Poteet vs. Altavilla

6 innings of middle reliever lefty against this lineup is tough. The Royals have really had a thing this series for leaving pitchers out for extra punishment. I guess it leaves them in good bullpen shape for the day game tomorrow, Yankees have played into their hands

    6/12 - Poteet vs. Altavilla

Less immaculate this time for Danny

    Trade deadline: Discussion and news

Rizzo to Goldschmidt is not super exciting (Goldschmidt's K rate has gone up the last 2 years in a row and he's been barely better than Rizzo this year), but maybe if there was barely any other cost to the deal it would be worth it. In the absence of better alternatives. Just going to Ben Rice...
