  1. Scott Cooper's Grand Slam

6/18 at Min - Seventh Heaven

Right, but this is a comparatively low-stakes moment. The timing seemed particularly odd with everything going on with Papi. Read the room, Dave. But, meh. Maybe I’m just grumpy.
  2. Scott Cooper's Grand Slam

6/18 at Min - Seventh Heaven

JBJ’s catch was excellent, but did anyone else think O’Brien’s call was in poor taste? “Jackie Bradley. Jackie Bradley. Jackie Bradley.” Sorry, Dave. You only get one.
  3. Scott Cooper's Grand Slam

    Throw strike three!
  4. Scott Cooper's Grand Slam

6/18 at Min - Seventh Heaven

Runner on third, nobody out. 2 outs, runners on first and second. Not bad, Vaz.

May 14 Colorado at Fenway Part 1 "Sale Day"

I really thought Benny would extend the inning. Sigh.

May 8 in O's Town - "Rubber" game

Come on, JD! Get those insurance runs.
  9. Scott Cooper's Grand Slam

May 8 in O's Town - "Rubber" game

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an immaculate inning. That’s amazing. Edit: According to O’B, he’s the fifth known Sox hurler to do it. The others: Pedro Porcello Kimbrel Buchholz I’d have to scour b-ref to know if Fat Billy ever did it.

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

Thanks Rip! PSVue was the first service I tried. The Roku interface was bad, but I’ll look at it again. I liked it.

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

25 Mbps DSL. It took me 4 hours to download Mario Kart on Switch, and forget about uploading. But streaming on YouTube.TV is great. Netflix gets blurry occasionally. Prime and others buffer sometimes. But YouTube.TV quality is consistently excellent.

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

I’m a happy YouTube.TV customer. I’m in New England so I get local news, free DVR, every Patriots broadcast, every Celtics game, and NESN. I literally could not ask for more for $50/mo. That said, I was a very happy cable customer when I could get cable. Living in DC I paid no more than $75/mo...

    4/2 We Stink

I puzzled over this for awhile. “But Millar was Theo’s doing...” Then I realized DD was a reference to Dombrowski, not Duquette. Carry on.
  14. Scott Cooper's Grand Slam

4/1 vs Oakland, When We Was Fab

Safe. What a throw, though! I wouldn’t feel robbed if it’s out.

Most Hated Patriots & Opponent Player

Opponent: David Tyree, he of 54 career receptions. Patriot: Reche Caldwell. Those bug eyes. I hate to mock someone for their appearance, but he’s the physical embodiment of “I’m overmatched.”

    Gronk announces his retirement

Someday Brady or Belichick will retire. That’s the day this run ends. Today is for celebrating the best tight end to ever play for the Patriots. Congrats, Gronk. I’ll see you in the movies. Ones rated by the MPAA, I hope.

Rosenthal: Sale extension 5 years, $145 million

No pitcher since Pedro has been as fun to watch every turn on the hill. I love his arsenal. I love watching strikeouts. I love that he works quickly. He is among the most entertaining players in baseball and I’m glad to root for him for another 5 years. Bring on #SaleDay!

    Google Stadia

If anyone can do this it’s Google. But: I had an OnLive. Even with high bandwidth (>100Mbps), it sucked. Input lag made undemanding games like Arkham City too floaty to play. PSNow also sucks, but currently my bandwidth tops out at 25Mbps. This is intriguing, but I’m skeptical.
