Pats file tampering charges against Texans

This is why I said BB retiring seemed “possible but unlikely”. A lot could happen that might convince him to move on, and we don’t for sure know yet whether he intended to rebuild after Brady. But that’s all speculation. All things equal he’ll be back.

Pats file tampering charges against Texans

Pats filed tampering charges, Texans walked away, Pats dropped their tampering charge. My guess would be that if the Texans were willing to give up draft pick compensation, the Pats would have released Caserio from his contract. (With Belichick, everything has its price - in this case a price...

    2019-2020 Bruins

I think this is correct. I also think that if the season doesn't go well, Krug is the sort of player who could be very easily moved, for real value, at the deadline.

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

One thing that hasn't' come up - at some point Cassidy should have broken up his top line. They were dismal all series. He bet the season on their ability to eventually break through and they didn't. I don't just mean try Pastrnak on line 2, Krejci was also pretty unproductive. If the Blues...

    2019-2020 Bruins

Interesting. I think Krug’s contract situation being what it is, there may be 3 time frames: next season, where they return the whole core unless they trade some like Krug. The next year or two after that, at which point Krug is gone (either traded now or as UFS later). Then there is a longer...

    2019-2020 Bruins

Krug is a more important contributor to the team’s offense than a second line caliber wing would be. And his skillset is not redundant with Carlo or Grzelcyk. Maybe McAvoy, but he will increasingly fill a different role on the team (picking up the #1 mantle held by Chara for so many years)...

    2019-2020 Bruins

And this sucks. They lost a series in large part because the key offensive players (top line + Krejci) were mostly MIA, and the shoe that may drop may very well be getting rid of the guy who showed up, produced, and did all he could to keep them in it, even though the team has nothing even close...

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

The Bruins took one game off. The refs stole a game. The top line did this: 21 games, 5 goals (3 PP, 2 ES [1 EN]), 8 assists (4 PP, 2 ES, 2 SH). Bergeron went pointless at even strength and was held off the board entirely in 5 games. There were other problems (the 4th line's talent for...

    Game 7 - Bruins v. Blues

Wow. Mostly excellent play, couple of breakdowns, and St Louis scores on both. Fucking depressing.

    Game 7 - Bruins v. Blues

Has Pastrnak handled the puck cleanly even once tonight? I hope he’s just overly fired up. Other than a rough initial shift, Bruins have come to play tonight.

    Celtics on-off numbers

I wonder how much of Irving's number there relates to Rozier's (ie, Iriving's primary backup's) suckitude. I think the main thing to make of this is SSS. Also, Marcus was hurt.

Yes. Game situation should matter in circumstances like this.

2018 Tom M-F&^%$ing Brady: Still Proving It

For me, it is the monetizing of an adjective that is fucked up. Or would be, if that was Brady's intent, which now seems not to be the case.

They are just planning to 'fine' him by giving the Blues more free head shots.

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

It’s rare to see a coach in any sport respond the way that Cassidy did, especially when they know they will have to pay to do it. Whether it is ultimately good or bad (I don’t know), I appreciate his willingness to be forthright in spite of the fine. The Blues have been little shits all...

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

Well, Cassidy blasted the crap out of the officials. It feels rare in this Belichick-influenced era to have a coach go off like that. I think he'll find himself short a few dollars.

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

Having just criticized the idea of dressing 7 defensemen, I'm going to partly reverse course on that. If they end up dressing Grzelcyk or Chara under circumstances where they are not 100% sure that one or both will be able to play at their accustomed level, then I'd dress a 7th D as a precaution.

    2019 Patriots: Post-SB Roster Thread

If Gronk was absolutely set on a midseason return, wouldn't the Pats have just found a way to put him on the PUP list? I do think it is possible that he comes back, but more likely than not, he's finished.

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

There's a good reason why you fail to see it - it isn't true. And I say this as someone who was ready to main it in after game 2. At the very worst, the Bruins are on par with St Louis except for having better goaltending. QUOTE="Jordu, post: 3425419, member: 281"]If Cassidy decides to go with...

2019 Stanley Cup Final - No Singing the Blues - Boston is Going Back to Backes

Nope. Krug isn’t a wing, period. And “offensive defenseman” skills don’t automatically translate to wing skills. For example, forechecking is not really a thing that offensive defensemen are called on to do. And at some level the whole idea of the position is different. As play transitions to...
