Follow along - I’m trying to qualify for the Mass Mid-Am

Golf is such a great game - so much to learn every time you play. Well done on getting yourself out there after all these years and giving it a shot. I'm sure you have lots of new knowledge to bring to the first tee when you do it again next year!

Follow along - I’m trying to qualify for the Mass Mid-Am

Good Lord the leaders went low today, presumably before the wind picked up. Hopefully for Boston* the wind stays low and there are early bird chances. Lots of opportunities tomorrow!

Follow along - I’m trying to qualify for the Mass Mid-Am

Thanks for the update - nowhere near too detailed! Sounds like solid prep to me and I hope the putter gets hot for you when it counts. I was actually thinking of this thread as I was refreshing golf genius for my son's tournament over the weekend. He's on the club team at VATech and it was...

Follow along - I’m trying to qualify for the Mass Mid-Am

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one refreshing the leaderboard this afternoon and hoping for a bird on 18. Well done, it looks like +3 would have made it anyway but when that putt on 18 dropped +3 was T15. Waiting and hoping +3 would make it would have been way less enjoyable than having a...

    SoSH Golf, 2023

I'm heading for Scotland later today. Big thanks to @Conigliaro's Potential on course recommendations, I'm very excited for our itinerary. Starting the golf off with a round at his home course (Dunbar) on Sunday.

    SoSH Golf, 2023

Way to go DOTB Jr.! We had the qualifier for our state Amateur championship yesterday. My two oldest and I all played in it. The rain was torrential. I was doing well, +4 through 14 but hit two OB off the tee on 15 on my way to a quad, sinking my chances. Middle kid played well but took...

    SoSH Golf, 2023

Opening day at my home course yesterday and I managed to get a late afternoon round in with my kids. The greens are slow and a few have significant winter kill but overall the course is in great shape. I played well, carding 78 with three birdies. The oldest had 77 despite making no birdies...

    POLL: Skiers of SoSH Locations

We're passholders and homeowners at Sunday River and ski there almost exclusively, occasionally making it to Vermont to visit some family.

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

This is so awesome, what an amazing encounter. Hanging out with Donnie Pelletier was pretty great, but this is WAY better. Wrapped up our season with closing day at Sunday River yesterday, logged about 50 days on the season in total. We're ready to move on to golf season.

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

So awesome to hear it! I was hoping the wind yesterday wasn't a downer. It was really good today at Sunday river as well. Still plenty of coverage and it softened up nicely. My wife and I did the sunrise service at the top of North Peak today, which was really gorgeous. @bigq - I have no...

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

That article showed up in my feed as well, then I remembered the date and figured it must be a joke

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

That's amazing - have you had snow there before? And how did the plan work out?

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

Yes - there will be shuttle service if parking fills up. But there's a lot more parking at Sunday River than Sugarloaf and it takes a lot of people before the parking fills up and they have to use satellite lots - this is the first year I've seen it be needed. There have been a few Saturdays...

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

I'm there a lot. If you get to pick the day of the week you'll be skiing try to avoid Saturday. Parking has been a nightmare on Saturdays. If you are renting equipment use the Great American Ski Company on the access road rather than renting on mountain - it will save both time and money...

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

Ja-pow is on my bucket list. Sunday River and Killington will both be open Easter weekend. Probably a bunch more as well. A colleague of mine rents out his place on Songo Pond in Bethel - I'd be happy to ask him about that weekend if you're interested. Normally rents it through Airbnb and...

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

@GoJeff! - love the pics, and glad to hear you had an awesome trip. Hopefully the cold didn't harsh your mellow too much!

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

I love all these updates. Sounds like a pretty epic day @graffam198! We had a good dump of snow in the northeast last Thursday and a snow day on Friday so I was out with my youngest on Friday. Saturday was a traffic nightmare getting to Sunday River. Our place is a ten minute drive but...

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

The modern equivalent is the social media posts of mountains claiming "a foot of fresh!" when it's maybe four inches. Of course, four inches is a pow day at most east cost mountains these days. My oldest* is now at Bachelor and reports that it is DEEP out west, hope you have a great time at...

Steep Couloirs and Flatspin 360s - Skiing and Boarding 22-23

Sorry to disappoint! I only have video of the dancing - but here's a pic instead. Views are pretty good... We went with some friends from London who have done this trip before through a company that handles all the logistics... from London to Courchevel. So we had to get ourselves to London...
