Major League Soccer 2019: Your Humble Local League

Attended Union 3-2 RBNY last night. Fun game with lots of traveling RB supporters in attendance. They went up 2 in the first half and the Union stormed back with 3 in about a 15 minute period of the second half. Bedoya was the soul of the Philly attack and played well. Brendan Aaronson looked...

Curb Your Enthusiasm: US Youth National Teams, Prospect Hype, and Youth Development Thread

The announcers are mixed so low against the crowd noise it's almost like one of those experimental non-commentary telecasts.

Apple rumored to stop using Intel chips by 2020

I watched one of the “Whole presentation in 10 minutes” recap videos, and saw that the watch is allowing devs to access the audio streaming api - hopefully this means Spotify over cellular is on the way.

dirtynine's Digest - The Thread for Kits

Barca’s look is so iconic they have to shake things up every few years - a lot of people will get the distinctive kit, and then the return to the “classic” look will inspire another round of excitement. There aren’t many teams at that level of visual that don’t regularly play around with their...

Curb Your Enthusiasm: US Youth National Teams, Prospect Hype, and Youth Development Thread

If the US can somehow get by France, the bracket opens up somewhat all the way to the final. Would have to play the winner of Uruguay / Ecuador, and then one of Japan, South Korea, Senegal or Nigeria. Lots of unknowns, but I wouldn’t hate their chances against any of those teams.

Liverpool 2018-19: Alisson, I Know Lovren is Killing You

Fantastic deep dive into the way Liverpool (and FSG) use analytics. Love some of the behind-the-scenes color (and, ironically, the black and white photography) in this piece.

VGA laptop, PowerPoint with mp4, HDMI projector

This looks like what you need. 3.5mm audio built in too, just plug into the laptop’s headphone port. (You could also use a male-to-male 3.5mm aux cable to run the audio directly from your laptop’s headphone port to a loud speaker or the presentation room’s built in audio system, etc). In case...

Poor New England! So Far From Boston, So Close to the Kraft Family: The Revolution 2019

The current state of the Revs is an argument in favor of closed two-tier pro/rel in MLS. They should be in an MLS2 (unable to fall farther, of course) until they get their shit together. It’s not like attendance or fan interest would change from whatever it is now.
