    May MLB game thread

I don't get your critique. The idea is to give both teams the same number of half-innings to score. If Oakland had taken the lead in the top of the 6th instead of the 7th inning, Detroit had the chance to equalize in the bottom of the 6th, and if they failed to do that they missed their chance.

That'd be up the butt, Bob - Kraft Charged with Soliciting.

It’s already known that with this spa there were definitely customers who went to get legit massages, including women. That’s part of the concern with making the videos public.

That'd be up the butt, Bob - Kraft Charged with Soliciting.

Yeah, my wife has zero clue about this story, and still knows nothing about who Robert Kraft is. Outside of sports and SoSH, most of my news sources have not even mentioned this story. Easy enough to find people ignorant of the story. There is very little that you can assume is universally...

    2019 Patriots: Post-SB Roster Thread

If Tom Brady (42 years old when season starts) completes a pass to Ben Watson (38, will turn 39 in December) this season, would that set the record for the oldest age total for a passer/receiver? (Amusing, until I tried looking up other contenders, I hadn't realized Pro Football Reference...

    The Caster Semenya decision

Is it really banned because it's dangerous? In my mind I thought the banning of testosterone was twofold: it's banned because you're not suppose to supplement whatever you're born with, and it's banned because that extra testosterone then gives you an unfair advantage. It's similar to blood...

    The Caster Semenya decision

Totally. I agree that that men's/women's divisions are binary in a world that has many border cases that may challenge the distinct category of sports for women. On the other hand it strikes me that the specific case of Semenya shouldn't be that border case. She isn't trans. She isn't intersex...

    The Caster Semenya decision

I don't necessarily agree that the science supports your view of trans athletes, but I'll save that for the other thread. I would say that is qualitatively a different case from the Semenya one, where we are talking about the advantages someone is born with. You're making a slippery slope...

    The Caster Semenya decision

So Caster Semenya has lost her landmark legal case against the IAAF, and will have to undergo treatments to reduce her naturally high levels of testosterone if she is to compete in the 800m https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/may/01/caster-semenya-loses-landmark-legal-case-iaaf-athletics...

Jimmy G to 49ers for 2nd round pick

Yup, what Baltimore and Green Bay got out of their picks wasn’t bad either. The Ravens got Michael Oher, and Green Bay got Clay Matthews and Jamon Meredith. Decent, even great value (in Matthews’ case) for late 1st round picks. Both teams won Super Bowls with their picks and I think they would...

Jimmy G to 49ers for 2nd round pick

The lineage of that trade is ridiculous. The Pats had 1st round pick #23 as a result of Brady missing most of 2008. That was traded to Baltimore for #26 and #162 #26 and #162 were in turn traded to Green Bay for a 2nd (#41, the Darius Butler pick), and two thirds (#73 and #83, the Brandon...
