My 40 year old HP 12 C passed away this week

I sold my 15C and 28S calculators a few years ago for good money on eBay. I realized that I didn’t use them anymore. The 15C was my favorite because of the form factor and keyboard. The 28S was more capable but I preferred the 15C plus the battery life wasn’t as good. That is the one thing...

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

Which package is that? The cheapest streaming package on their website is $75/month.

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

The 4K, unlimited home network streams dropped from $19.99 to $9.99 so my net cost is actually a little lower now. Plus I share my sub with 2 other people so I'm not paying the full rate.

The Game Goat Thread: Wk.16 vs Cincinnati

Could we trade Thornton to the Steelers for some other WR? Then if they’re able to make him productive, we will know that it’s the coaches/system at fault.

The Game Goat Thread: Wk.16 vs Cincinnati

On the last extra point, I was watching the flags at the top of the post. They didn’t move at all yet the ball moved in a crazy way. Could the long snapper cause the ball to move in a crazy way? I didn’t see the wind moving the flags at the top of the pole.

Need a US Phone Number Connected to German Phone Number

Hmm, yes this might work if your phone/cell provider supports WiFi calling. Might have an issue in getting the service setup and activated if a new account unless someone in the US can do it and mail you the card. https://www.t-mobile.com/support/coverage/wi-fi-calling-from-t-mobile

Need a US Phone Number Connected to German Phone Number

I’m wondering if someone can get one of those MVNO places like Cricket to get a phone number for you and then port it to Google Voice? I did that years ago when we had a land line. By using an Obihai device, we had free land line service. We disconnected our land line but it’s still active. We...

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

yes, this will work. You might want to create a separate Google account for YTTV so he doesn’t have access to your drive/mail. He’ll need to login to the account every 2 months as part of Home area checkin. Shouldn’t have any issues. YTTV allows three streams at the same time. I pay $10 more...

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

Are you sharing your account with others? The primary account holder sets the Home area. Your playback area changes base on where you're located. I share my account with two others so we split the bill three ways. As the primary account holder, it's set to the Boston area since that's where...

    Backup advice

I would still pay extra for iCloud/Google storage to ensure that your photos are backed up. I think OneDrive app is better now but I had the experience of my wife losing a year's worth of photos because the OneDrive app wasn't backing them up in the background. The photos were unrecoverable...

    Backup advice

I agree with this. Keep in mind that the family plan gives you 6 accounts, each with 1TB of storage. So if you need more than 1TB, you can create 2nd, 3rd accounts and have them all synced on the same machine as needed.

NESN to offer standalone streaming service for games (IN MARKET)

It’s easy to find a bunch of people selling their sub for $3 on slick deals. $5 is too rich for me.

Getting a (preferably new) laptop that has windows 10

I would stick with windows 11. Just create a VM with windows 10 to run those apps that don’t work on 11.

iMac / Outlook / zsh - for macOS Big Sur v11.6

The crash is a stack buffer overflow. I doubt that it has anything to do with the shell that is fork/exec'ing Outlook. You never answered the question about what email accounts did you add to Outlook. After you install outlook, it prompts you to add an email account. What did you add? You...

iMac / Outlook / zsh - for macOS Big Sur v11.6

Agreed. What is the error that you're seeing and how do you get to that error? I created a VM with Big Sur and had no trouble installing O365 (downloaded from office.com). I added my outlook & gmail accounts without an issue to Outlook.

iMac / Outlook / zsh - for macOS Big Sur v11.6

As far as I can tell, there's no 16.6 version. I think you're running 16.60 which is the latest. See this site for update history: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac#release-history-for-office-for-mac

iMac / Outlook / zsh - for macOS Big Sur v11.6

I just installed Office 365 on my Mac and the Outlook version is 16.6. Have you tried doing "check for updates" and then switching your channel to be the preview or beta? Maybe you'll get the newer version this way?
