2023 Jets: Rodgers wants to fly like a Jet

Watching the bad GM'ing that went into the Rodgers trade predictably screw us out the OL help we wanted/need most out of this draft was pretty painful. That you guys helped facilitate the snake of Jones was just kinda the fitting dagger twist too :)

    2023 QB Carousel

Well the entire ESPN analyst staff can finally stop 100% refusing to acknowledge the fact Lamar is 3 full seasons beyond what looks like the poster definition of an outlier, and put their pitchforks down over the "MVP" not getting his money. Both parties did good here imo. What looks excessive...

2023 Jets: Rodgers wants to fly like a Jet

It's not enough. I don't want to just be the most talked about team in football for just next year. I want to BELIEVE in the possibility of good things happening for an extended period of time man. I want to believe in that general hope springs eternal manner other fan bases get to do. Like I...

2023 Jets: Rodgers wants to fly like a Jet

More power to you, and in the ability to find it even if it has to be build around a mountain of delusional thinking. Like I said i get it from a strict pov that in the moment it makes the 2023 a lot more potentially interesting to watch going in. I'd hold off on making the Vegas bet though...

2023 Jets: Rodgers wants to fly like a Jet

As stated in my post above it starts by reading the room, and by not buying into the click hungry media's hype train that your roster is really a 40yo QB away from being a good probability bet in 2023 to jump ahead of the better teams in fairly stacked AFC. Followed then by making a legitimate...

2023 Jets: Rodgers wants to fly like a Jet

Underappreciated? In pretty much every single one of mainstream media influencer case I've seen, and within the thousands of hours of air time that has been dedicated to covering it this offseason, it's simply being flat out ignored in the process of pushing the much more desired buzz narrative...

    Tom Brady is retiring

My initial takeaway was actually the exact opposite. I'd of been more convinced had it committed to a second big PR announcement. This seemed more like raw emotion announcing a decision, in an easier to backtrack a second time manner, that could largely be driven by a present desire to not leave...

    UFC 2020

Not sure how you can make sense out of having Stipe as the betting underdog in this fight against Nagannou, but I"ll be in on that.

Thank you, Petey: Dustin Pedroia announces his retirement

Watching this interview on NESN now reminds me just how much I miss the guy and his real people persona. He was never my favorite player, but he did play a huge grander scheme of things role on making the team breaking ST every year feel like "mine", and in finalizing that post-2004 transition...

    BEAT L.A. (The Gamethread)

I'm in for that Screw LA. My laundry first mentality could care less one way or another if Mookie is now there, and I never really developed that core divisional hatred towards TB given their always present payroll handicap. The idea of watching the small market team topple the much bigger...

Rosenthal: Mookie and LAD in agreement: 12/$365

They already had him in house to make their immediate GFIN push, and given the surrounding circumstances I have my strong doubts this "doing whatever it takes" doesn't amount to them simply bidding against themselves here. Good for him. But those "he started young so he still might get even...

    Betts/Price to LA for Verdugo/Jeter Downs/TBA

In my head I am basically separating the soon to be 35yo Price and his 74/176/107 IP over the last year years as a straight salary dump inclusion in all this, and one that essentially buys out the possibility we spend the next 2.75 years after the season starts (while we still end up crunching...

    DD fired

Speculating that it "should' have ideally only taken X amount of trade chip pieces to land a guy isn't any less of a speculative reach now then it was then. Since at the end of the day, and regardless how much people would love to be able to break down a trade package's perceived value into a...

    DD fired

We realistically signed up for this type of breakup and these exact surrounding circumstances on the day DD was brought in. I'd go as to far to say that it even happened within in it's own rationally expected timeframe as well. Loved some of what he did during his time here, and hated some of...

Cutting The Cord on Cable/Satellite TV Service?

The problem with doing that btw (besides the fact the owner of that forum only allows recommendation posts like that on services he sells), and I'm only posting this here because I just noticed that I happened to be one of the people in that thread recommending it at the time, is that such info...

    Swihart traded to Dbacks

Agreed. A lot easier to get upset here about giving up on the (very drawn out) idea of Blake as a player then it is the player himself. That he's probably going for absolutely nothing at this point is also not worth being upset at either imo, as that essentially was price you paid to get a...

Machado to Padres for 10 years, 300M, opt-out halfway through

The Machado deal becomes a problem because there is still risk involved in that, and now you are taking that risk on top of those 2 overpays which in all likelihood will already be weighing their limited flexibility down. It would of been one thing for the Padres to sign Machado here had they...

Machado to Padres for 10 years, 300M, opt-out halfway through

That sounds a lot better in surface theory and when you don't factor in team's willingness to spend money track record. Having $73m of their limited payroll flexibility tied up in the trio of Machado/Hosmer/Myers isn't looking like a great team fit in my book.
