Super Bowl LVII - Chiefs vs Eagles in Glendale

No offense, but I don't like this matchup. I have a strong dislike for both teams.

Trevor Story had surgery on his right UCL and is expected to miss time

If we don't find a good replacement, we're in for a long (and painful) 2023 season :(

    Offseason 2022-23 MLB Thread

Reminds me of the 90's teams. Not sure if I like that though, but at least they're not the Yankees or Astros.

    Red Sox sign Corey Kluber

I guess I wasn't sure of the signing at first, but now I'm warming up to it. Kluber may not be the best at this point, but he's definitely better than nothing.

What are the best/most useful baseball stats

Woops, I posted a thread similar to this in the Red Sox Forum, but I was completely unaware that this topic was already posted. I apologize. I'm still new here, and have a bad habit of not checking the Forums page first before posting a thread. To answer the question, I like OPS+, ERA+, TB...

What are your favorite baseball statistics?

There's a lot of baseball statistics, and it's kinda hard to pick a favorite, or which one is the most reliable. I do have favorites though, like OPS+, TB (Total Bases), ERA+, WHIP, and WAR. What about you? What are your favorites?

Poll: Which of these four Red Sox teams was the best in terms of numbers and statistics?

It's interesting to see that many teams with better pythag records than the ones that won the pennant during that time. I really like looking at the Pythagorean win-loss numbers. It shows what a team's record "should've" been based on their performance, and it also shows whether a team...

Poll: Which of these four Red Sox teams was the best in terms of numbers and statistics?

Oh definitely! They were important parts of that team. However, I think Oil Can was inconsistent at times. Sometimes he was good, other times bad. But mostly good. Same with Hurst. I think the number 1 issue for that team was the bench and bullpen, which were both awful (except for Schiraldi).

Poll: Which of these four Red Sox teams was the best in terms of numbers and statistics?

I wonder why the '75 team's Pyth Win-Loss is the lowest of the four. They seem to me like they were a better team overall than the '67 and '86 teams. Maybe it was the pitching? Maybe it had something to do with the offense, and having a superb bench. But idk. Meanwhile, I'm not surprised to see...

Poll: Which of these four Red Sox teams was the best in terms of numbers and statistics?

I don't know if polls like this are allowed here, but I wanted to give this a try. The four teams in question are the 1946, 1967, 1975, and 1986 Red Sox teams, the ones that won the pennant but came up short in the World Series. In terms of "best", I mean the team with the best numbers (Batting...

    RIP Denny Doyle

It hurts when a member of the '75 Sox passes away. The 1975 Sox were one of the best and most entertaining teams ever, even though they didn't win the WS. Denny didn't have the best stats in his career (except for '75), but he was a good man and a great contributor for the team. RIP Denny

Poll: Rate Your Faith in the Red Sox Front Office

To be honest, I don't see Chaim lasting much longer. I was ecstatic at first when he joined the front office, but he has been a pretty big disappointment.

Carlos Correa and the Mets (yes, that's correct) agree on a 12-year, $315m deal

I will say though, I'm happier with Correa being with the Mets than the Giants. In terms of talent, it does hurt the Giants, but Correa isn't super likeable. He'll fit right in with a team that isn't likeable in general (sorry Mets fans)

HOLY FUCKIN' COW This is by far the craziest offseason in MLB history.

Carlos Correa and the Giants agree on a 13-year, $350m deal

I don't like this move at all. Correa is definitely talented, but he doesn't seem likeable, and he didn't handle Houston's cheating scandal very well. The contract itself is terrible. 13 years is waaay too much. It hurts that this is coming from the Giants, my second favorite team (after the...

Correa or Bust, or, How Much is that SS in the Window, the One With the Questionable Back?

13 years is downright ridiculous. I've had enough of overly long contracts like this. It hurts that this is coming from the Giants, my second favorite team (after the BoSox). As for Correa, I just can't bring myself to like him. He's talented, but he doesn't seem likeable, and he didn't handle...

Poll: Grade the Masataka Yoshida Signing

Damn, somebody tagged this as a "dumb poll" I don't know, is it really that dumb? I think I'm gonna close it asap.
