Mickelson, 10 others sue PGA Tour

I haven't had a chance to read the complaint but the article mentioned plaintiffs are alleging an illegal group boycott (which is per se illegal). Basically, you can't have an actionable "boycott" under the antitrust laws unless there is an agreement among horizontal competitors to boycott...

    Red Sox Trade Deadline 2022

Looks like they discovered a new market inefficiency: public masturbators and violent fantasy football players. Chaim is a genius.

Astros acquire Christian Vázquez for Enmanuel Valdez and Wilyer Abreu.

Are we going to find out who the two prospects are or are they PTBNLs?

    Trade Deadline Gamethread 2022

I wonder if this will create a Rudy Gobert/Kevin Durant situation with Soto where the Nats feel they have to get way more than Cincy did. Maybe it's more likely Soto doesn't get moved until the winter now.

Speier: How Well has Bloom Done Trading for Prospects?

Six days after Mookie Betts was traded, MLB released their top prospect list for 2020 and Gavin Lux ranked behind only Wander Franco as the #2 prospect in all of baseball. That same off-season, BP ranked Lux at #3 overall and BA was the most pessimistic on Lux at #4 overall. Jeter Downs was...

Would you trade Jaylen+ for Durant?

Per the CBA rules, how many 1sts can the Celtics actually offer? Personally, I'd walk away at the reported Jaylen + Smart + Grant(?) + picks counter but I'd be OK with increasing the draft comp in the Jaylen + White offer as somewhat of a middle ground. Given Brogdon, Durant, and TL's injury...

Juan Soto is on the trade block; rejects $440 million contract extension from Washington

Soto's ZiPS projections for the rest of his arb years: 2023: .313/.466/.595 (7.9 WAR) 2024: .305/.464/.589 (7.7 WAR) After 2024, he'd be entering his age 26 season. I'd trade just about everything for Soto in a heartbeat. 12/$440M to top Mike Trout's extension in AAV, give him an opt-out...

    2022 MLB Draft

Speaking of sons - Druw Jones (son of Andruw), Jackson Holliday (son of Matt), and Justin Crawford (son of Carl) are all projected first rounders. Druw and Jackson could easily go #1 and #2 overall. Wow I'm feeling old.

And immediately comes a ton of Mitchell to Knicks buzz. The Knicks blowing all their assets on Mitchell is a good outcome from a Celtics perspective, no? I can’t imagine a Brunson/Mitchell backcourt pairing will have any success defensively. View...

Any expected buyout options you're looking forward to? Hard to predict what will be available but maybe Derrick Favors?

Brogdon to Boston for Theis/Nesmith/2023 1st

View: https://twitter.com/KeithSmithNBA/status/1546888928497750019?s=20&t=DwBKgQv5AS8rdMXQeTxzsQ Injuries will be a concern but I think we can put the chemistry issues/willingness to accept a bench role thing to rest.

Brogdon to Boston for Theis/Nesmith/2023 1st

Smart and Brogdon work perfectly starting together. I don’t know if that’s the plan but I think they’ll go away from starting 2bigs.

Brogdon to Boston for Theis/Nesmith/2023 1st

Yep the primary reason Brogdon went from a 41 3P% in Milwaukee to a 35 3P% in Indiana was that his proportion of catch and shoots went from like 80-90% in MIL to 60% in IND. Yet another reason to play him and Smart together.

Brogdon to Boston for Theis/Nesmith/2023 1st

If they go away from the 2BIGZ you might not see either Rob or Al as the every day starter. They might just play it by match-up (e.g., you'd rather have Al vs Embiid or some of the other thicc bigs).
