Wild Card Weekend game thread (non-Pats)

A meteorite striking the Chiefs’ sideline is their only chance. But seriously, keeping the Chiefs off the field, somehow finding a way to run the ball, and getting damn lucky is their best hope. I just don’t have much faith in Matt Canada or Ben. They have a great RB but they don’t have a good...

I like your enthusiasm. Only three teams ran for fewer yards than the Steelers this year. Harris is a beast, but the OL is raw and not all that good, and the OC is just plain bad.

Because the line judge on the Cowboys’ sideline marked the progress of the last play precisely on the 25 yard line. The down judge just moved it to the 24 from the 23.5, which is where the Cowboys set themselves up. If the down judge deserves any criticism, it’s for not moving the Cowboys back...

I don’t think that’s right. The side judges were standing exactly on the 25 while the Cowboys set themselves up at the 23. The ref was generous in only moving it back to the 24. If you can rewind, you’ll see this yourself.

Romo: Cowboy fans livid because their team couldn’t run play after time expired.

I saw the ref windmilling, so I’d say you’re correct.

I think it’s a tad short, and that the mark on the field was too far forward. Tough for ref in real time but I think they should correct it. Assuming an on sideline is accurate.

You have to be kidding. What a catch.

Again (Al), Watt did it in one fewer game and without the aid of a QB taking a dive to hand him a sack. Records and comparisons of players in different generations are kind of silly to begin with, but let’s not pretend that Strahan’s 22.5 sacks doesn’t deserve its own asterisk.

That INT was really close to being out of bounds, a lot closer than they made it seem. His right foot was clearly in. His left foot came down in bounds, too, but after his butt and left hand hit the ground simultaneously. The left fingers were right on the line but just in. What a play.

The Steelers played one more game than the 2001, Giants, Sean, but Watt played one fewer game than Strahan. The former also didn’t have a QB lay down to give him any. Point, Watt.

Speaking from first-hand knowledge, Steelers’ fans are never “feeling it” with the 21-22 Steelers.
