Man in the Arena on ESPN Plus

Retire in the spring? That's gonna be a hard no.

OK, I am going to ask the question: Has BB lost his fastball?

Are you suggesting Moss didn't have monster seasons before 2006? Agholor has never had a monster season. He's done it 0 times in his career. Moss had 7 1000 yard seasons in the books when the Pats signed him.

Allen Robinson has also had 3 1100 yard seasons. He's a player who has performed. Agholor has zero 900 yard seasons in his career. And he's had a total of one 800 yard season in 7 years. Not a good comp.

But he didn't get those. You can't credit Nelson for catches he didn't make and touchdowns he didn't score.

OK, I am going to ask the question: Has BB lost his fastball?

Those contracts are horrendous, too. The only player who wasn't an disastrous and ridiculous overpay was Davis, who was decent this year but he was hurt a lot, too. Davis is actually a great WR, at least. The fact that the idiotic Giants gave Golladay all that money doesn't mean the Pats did...

OK, I am going to ask the question: Has BB lost his fastball?

I still don't get the Agholor signing. He's never had 900 yards in a season. He's had above 800 once. Marvin Jones, Chase Claypool, Amon St. Brown, and Christian Kirk had over 800 yards this season. Those guys all make half, or more, what Nelson made. Just a terrible move to sign a guy who has...

Wild Card Weekend game thread (non-Pats)

He certainly did this Sunday. Wasn't his release time average the fastest out of all the QBs? I think I read that somewhere.

This is correct. Google also gets this wrong all the time. Well, not wrong but there is no rhyme or reason with the results.

Bucs are 3 point favorites. So the expectation is for a tight game. Brady will get rid of the ball as fast as he did on Sunday.

    NFL: News and transactions

They had 6 games over 3 days and I would assume all 6 games will be in the top 25 for TV ratings for the entire year of 2022. It went fine for the NFL. I don't know why you're so reactionary about these things. Most first rounds in the NBA are also a bore, too.

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

Seriously, how is that possible. Mahomes passed for over 400 yards and had 5 TDs. And he rushed for 30 yards. And his team won in an absolute blowout. Lol. These black box statistics are worthless if these are the results.

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

Jimmy G being better than Mahomes yesterday really is, um, a take.

The Michael McCorkle "Mac" Jones Thread

Mac put up a lot of his numbers when his team was behind by 30. Converting some third downs and throwing two touchdowns (including one very late in the game) after your team is down 30 is one of the least valuable things a QB can do. Because the game is over, nothing is of value.

    Tompa Bay: Tom Tom Club

Parker's comments are stupid on its face, obviously. Some crazy plays have also gone against Brady. I guess Montana and Bradshaw are also LOATs. If anything, they are ever LOATier than Brady. The harder Brady works, the luckier he seems to be, I guess.

    Tompa Bay: Tom Tom Club

My newest favorite thing about counting Brady's numbers is that you cannot compare him to other players anymore. You have to compare him against franchises. And in that regard, Brady still wins. He has won more Super Bowls than any team in NFL history.(this one is legitimately funny) He has more...

    Tompa Bay: Tom Tom Club

I still cannot get over the fact that Tom Brady at age 44 led the NFL in touchdowns and yards. I will never get over this fact. Ben R at 39 years old threw like 40 passes yesterday and I think 3 or 4 of them got past the line of scrimmage. That is insane and he was an embarrassment. He was worse...

    Tompa Bay: Tom Tom Club

Tom Brady has 10 playoff wins in his 40s. Peyton Manning, Elway, Steve Young, and Bradshaw had 14 in their career. These guys were the elite in their eras and Brady in his 40s is keeping up with their careers. Players below Brady in his 40s. Russell Wilson, Brees, McNabb, Kurt Warner, Kim...

Further, the spike itself takes off at least a second, too. They didn't even come close to getting it spiked in time.

He was just talking about QB performance in the playoffs.
