    Building a Bullpen, 2019 edition

I bet Theo and company would give us somebody like Brian Duensing for Swihart. Which is exactly why we should hold on to Swihart.

    Building a Bullpen, 2019 edition

I'm not an expert on the salary cap, but I believe that Kimbrel's 2019 hit would be $15M in your 3-year scenario and $13.5M in your 4-year scenario. Both would put us over the magical $246M number that DD appears loathe to exceed. More importantly, I highly doubt that the Red Sox want Kimbrel...

    May The Best Team Win...

Actually, I think they lost in the ALDS in deliciously-excruciating fashion. I'm not sure that result in 2019 would be considered "successful" on this message board, although John Farrell certainly might disagree.

    May The Best Team Win...

Not sure this means all that much. It didn't work out so well for the presumptive favorites in '18.

    Sox re-sign Steve Pearce

Aside from Pedroia, were the Red Sox REALLY fortunate injury-wise last year? It seemed to me that they were only fortunate injury-wise in the playoffs. Betts Price Bogaerts EdRo Sale Vazquez Devers Kinsler

Rename the Red Sox AAA Team!

Would be over the moon over any of the Shire Sauce, War Chesters or Ruby Legs monikers. Nevertheless, here are some other options: 1. Worcester Antiquarians 2. Worcester Candlepins 3. Worcester Smiley-Faces 4. Worcester Heartthrobs

Should the NL Be Required to Adopt the DH?

I think the prior arguments for making the DH universal across both leagues are pretty compelling. With the increased role specialization of the game, it's not fair to expect pitchers to swing the bat all that well. Having a DH to hit in the pitcher's spot makes for more competitive at bats...

Couldn't they have let him start? He likely wouldn't have done any worse than Hendriks.

Am I crazy or is it awfully strange to pitch Hendriks and Rodney in a wildcard game before Fiers? Fiers would be pitching on 4 days rest.

Good thing Beane isn't watching this. He might have a few choice texts for Melvin lined up.

What's the over under on Rodney's pitch count and runs allowed this inning? I'll say 28 and 3.

Now that the game is official, A's should just forfeit. They clearly are not going to be able to push a single run across against the superlative MFY bullpen.
