The Game Ball Thread: AFCCG at the Chiefs

If the league is truly concerned about player safety, head injuries, and concussions this type of hit/potential hit should be against the rules. They make major changes to kickoffs but allow this as legal under current rules?

2019 NFL Playoff Game Thread - Divisional Round

Not sure how much he may have lost in the ensuing years but he has a phenomenal vocal range. He does a version of "Across 110th Street" with his post FNM band Peeping Tom which is outstanding. I'm actually looking forward to hearing this.

    2019 Pats Draft

I assume, as in years past, some of these picks will be traded for existing players that are undervalued and would fill a need.

These questions and rules are now under further review

If the holding rules are so complex they can't be understood by the fans, that's on the NFL not the fans. Similar to the "what is a catch" dilemma. No one really knows how a play will be called anymore until the ruling comes down, even by so called experts - many who played the game. That's a...

The Game Goat Thread: Week 15 at Pittsburgh

They also have all those 2019 draft picks. The team is getting old but there could potentially be a lot of roster turnover next year (and help). But they are going to have to hit on a lot of those 2019 picks. At a higher rate then they have the last couple years.

The Game Goat Thread: Week 15 at Pittsburgh

I'm wondering the same thing. With pre-injury Edleman, Amendola, who both made a living on sharp precise cuts in limited space to get open, and prior to this year Gronk; they just had so many possibilities inside the ten. The defense couldn't cover everyone. Now it looks like no one is...

The Game Goat Thread: Week 15 at Pittsburgh

And on a lot of the trips they did score it was by running it in. Pretty much none of the receivers can get separation in the end zone from inside the twenty.

    Brady wants to "divorce" Belichick

Let's not forget the three or so concussions he got from Peyton hanging him out to dry. Not sure if that may have impacted his stats/post Patriots career.

    Possible NFL Rule changes

Shouldn’t they wait until the next Super Bowl to make this change without telling anyone in advance?

Thoughts about media types who don't have their own threads

If anyone would know plastic, rehearsed and contrived it would be Joe.

The NFL and the National Anthem

Similar to the what is the catch rule they should just have the viewing audience determine what is disrespect by texting. Beaten by several.

    Possible NFL Rule changes

True, but it's been a problem for at least 8 years with the Calvin Johnson play and even impacted the 2014 playoffs with the Dez Bryant play. It wasn't until the NE Pittsburgh game this year, with a play that benefited the Patriots that this became so big an issue that the league felt the need...

SBLII: What Did the Butler Do?

Belichick's kid got caught with weed in Weston when he was a kid and he is now a coach on the team. It there was an issue it just wasn't the weed.

SBLII: What Did the Butler Do?

Agreed about defeat not having one dad. Also agree that Curran is probably the best, most level headed media person covering the team. But it's also been implied that Tom Brady Sr. is one of his sources so I judge everything he reports through that filter.

SBLII: Tell me What to Watch in the Runup to the Game!

It often gets lost in the telling of the story, but this is exactly what happened and was why BB was so pissed.

    What is a catch? Etc.

Have no idea how it might be changed but what I do know, based on past history, is that they will screw it up even more.

"Tom vs. Time" - new Brady documentary

Damn right. Both my girls could work me. And now the three year old next door does and she is not even my granddaughter.

    Celebrating What Is

Yeah that's it. It was a fairly long pass to Graham and they were close to being in FG range for the tie already. Even the Washington fans were convinced they were going to lose.

    Celebrating What Is

I thought there was something about the 4th down play. I was thinking that Graham was open and Brady just missed him. I looked online and couldn't find any description of the play.

    Celebrating What Is

Yeah, I was pretty drunk so I went back to look at the game files and saw that it was turned over on downs. I also think that Colvin was injured and put on IR about this time. It may have taken them a little time to completely adjust. It was a pretty big loss.
