Brady gets the 2. Avoids the Saints and probably avoids the Rams in Round 2.

Bucs are 1-6 against the Saints and Rams last two seasons. 27-3 against the rest of the NFL.

That INT was really close to being out of bounds, a lot closer than they made it seem. His right foot was clearly in. His left foot came down in bounds, too, but after his butt and left hand hit the ground simultaneously. The left fingers were right on the line but just in. What a play.

This is about the best possible set of playoff matchups we could have had, IMO. No horrible QBs (Ben, Jimmy G and Hurts probably being jointly the worst) - e.g., no Taysom/Simien, no Wentz. No Week 18 rematches in Week 19. Really like Rams vs. Cardinals and Cowboys vs. Niners in the NFC, and Pats vs. Bengals and Bills vs. Chargers/Raiders in the AFC. The 2-7 matchups aren't bad, but they're never likely to be great...and they both maybe have a puncher's chance of winning, more on the dodgy form of their opponents than their own strengths.

To be fair, Ben is horrible. Like, truly awful.

To be fair, that loss to the Saints this year at home (I think 9-0) was an awful game. The Saints defense got away with 2003-2004 Pats vs Colts muggings. Also, Brady lost almost his entire offense. I would like to believe if they meet again in Tampa Bay and the refs don't interfere that Brady will win.

For a second there I thought you were implying that NO made the playoffs, which they did not. Needed SF to lose.

Sorry it came across that way. I was just saying that even though Brady has a bad record against the Saints. I like him to be able to beat them at home (Next Season) unless the Saints get another superstar QB.

What do you think the odds are the NBC broadcast mentions the tie?

Hey they just did!

Al Michaels DGAF - he would allude to betting spreads back when the NFL and thus the networks treated gambling discussion like a third rail - so I could see him raising the issue re whether the teams should conspire to tie.

One of the most under-appreciated aspects of Al Michaels over the years.

I don't know about charmed. Tighter grip on the ball could have been a TD. But not as bad as it could have been.

Again (Al), Watt did it in one fewer game and without the aid of a QB taking a dive to hand him a sack. Records and comparisons of players in different generations are kind of silly to begin with, but let’s not pretend that Strahan’s 22.5 sacks doesn’t deserve its own asterisk.

I have a strong dislike for McVay. He fired his equipment manager right after the super bowl. He had been with Rams for almost 30 years. (A buddy of mine, so I am jaded) inside info : he’s a douche.
You don't say...

Can't recall another coach doing something like that. Dude just wanted to get on TV.
