Trade deadline

Two of the best teams in baseball (by record), the Giants and Red Sox, have thus far done nothing or very little. No guarantees, but winning the offseason or trade deadline--as judged by the media--does not always translate to winning where it matters.
Noteable that neither team really was expected to contend like they have, and neither, for different reasons, are in a good position to outbid for other teams players in this kind of market.

And...there goes that point if the Giants get Bryant.

Alright, unless there's a last minute scoop on Schoop, we're rolling with what we got plus Schwarber and Sale.

So, I maybe we give Plawecki a little more time at first? Is Arroyo coming back? Is Franchy the magical answer? Something else happening in the next few minutes?

So the Giants, the last remaining team that hadn’t made a move, finally do something. Can’t wait to hear Chaim’s spin on this, including how he’ll sell this to the locker room. “Nice season so far guys, unfortunately we didn’t want to pay for any help for you unlike every other team you’re going to play moving forward. Good luck!”

Its just so insane because in most years you'd think Schwarber + Sale would be one of the better mid seasons adds you could imagine. My goodness is this year different. Historic activity

The real winner of this year's trade deadline is my couch pillows, which love to be yelled into.

Oh, the poor locker room, how will they manage to play out the season?

Yup-- I noted that my post did not hold up for more than two minutes.....Well, glad for the Giants, since I really don't want to see the Dodger leviathan crush everyone before them this fall.

I mean, there are a few minutes left...but usually there are too many holes on a team to realistically fill, or the need is an ace or a closer where the costs are always exorbitant...but a league average 1B? I can't believe no one was available.

HE MADE A FUCKING TRADE YESTERDAY. Just because you don't like what he got doesn't mean the clubhouse is going to think he failed them.

I know most people don't agree with this sentiment, but I liked it more when we weren't run by a Tampa guy and acted like the big market team that we are.

I like the Schwarber move, but overall a failure of a deadline unless something happens in the next 30 seconds.

When did this forum get taken over by Jets fans?

Midseason moves are nice. The Sox even made one yesterday. The price is often steep. How did Andrew Miller work out for the Orioles?

There is no prize for winning the trade deadline. I trust Chaim.

The big market team you are pining for traded away a lot of their prospects and others made the big leagues. The farm system needs to be rebuilt.

Big market team in the middle of a great season with a patchwork holdover rebuild while the long-term plan plays out.

Given the closing prices on traded players.. I'm happy we didn't outbid.

Their payroll is 7th in baseball and they'll likely be top 5 or higher again soon. Meanwhile, Chaim has built a contender from a shitheap in 2020 and we have an actual farm system again. I mean, have some perspective.

Can I ask those of you in the camp of "In Chaim we Trust", why you trust him? I'm not saying I don't trust him, but I just don't see what he's brought us yet.

Sorry, but if your reinforcements are a guy that can’t play for another two weeks at a position TBA + a pitcher coming off a major surgery that’s going to pitch maybe 7 games down the stretch while everyone around you gets markedly better it’s not enough.

JFC who let Felger and Mazz create two dozen SoSH accounts?

However will Chaim face his first place team having only added a .900 OPS masher? The disrespect!
