Rays took 2 of 3 from LAAAA. They were looking pretty good for the sweep today, but then they got Shohei’d. He had a double, triple and HR. That dude is nuts.

The Orioles have had 10 different guys start games this season. 6 of them have ERA's over 7. Two have consistently been in the rotation.

Torey Lovullo just let his pitcher hit with the bases loaded and 2 outs in a 2-2 game, 6th inning. Took three strikes.

Not sure I’ve seen that before. Head spinning.

That pitcher he left in ended up giving up 6 runs in the 7th of a 1-1 game, never pulled at all. I guess they really are tanking for Elijah Green now.

JBJ got 2 hits in the 8th inning. A ringing double broke a 4-4 tie with the Cubs. Brewcrew scored 10 in the inning.

14 in his last 15. Unbelievable.
Maybe some hitters will benefit more from the lack of spin than others? I saw this on twitter/reddit and thought maybe it is related to Kyle's new success?

While it must be difficult for some of these pitchers to revamp their approaches after years of using sticky stuff, it has to be a relief for some hitters who have just never been able to hit these absurd pitches, after being so successful previously. There is almost no chance Max S is getting traded now, the Nats are not too far behind the Mets for the NL East lead.

Wait, if Schwarber couldn't hit high fastballs, but is dominating now because of a drop in pitchers' spin, does that mean that suddenly there is hope for Michael Chavis?

Aaron Ashby's MLB debut did not go well. MIL's #9 prospect, called up as an opener today against the Cubs, and gave up 7 runs (4 earned) without getting out of the 1st, .2 4 7 4 3 0.

The Cubs lead 7-0 in the 1st.

It's the 5th inning now and it's 14-7 Brewers. This after giving up 10 runs in the 8th yesterday.

The Indians wasted the first two months of the season using a combination of Jake Bauers and Yu Chang at first base because Bauers was out of options and Chang is in his last option year and can play a few positions. Their combined numbers for Cleveland have been .178/.241/.282 with 4 home runs in 202 at-bats. Despite being their best hitter in spring training, Bobby Bradley wasn't promoted to Cleveland until June 5th. Since taking over the first base job, he's hit .269/.338/.672 with 8 home runs in 67 at-bats.

The O's are the worst team in the league by Pythag, and the 'Stros are the best, so naturally the O's have outscored 'em 12-0 in the last three innings.

Wild day of baseball - we had scores of 13-3, 20-2, 11-6, 15-6, 15-7, and 11-8 (or more if the Yankees score in the bottom of the ninth).

Obviously it’s extremely anecdotal/small sample but it kinda seems like the no sticky stuff rule is having the desired effect (high heat across much of the country also helps balls get out in a hurry, of course).

More to the overall point, this was the most runs in a day in MLB (204) since 2009, and the modern day record isn't far off at 222. What a capper to the month.

The month would not be complete without acknowledging that, in fact, they did not.
