So does PHI fire Rivers? He did the same thing last season with the clippers. And the Clippers were killed by the press for firing him since doc was “not the problem”
And if they did someone else will hire him, and then complain when his team flops early next year

Started the year 14-20. Their two best wings either in street clothes or hobbled. Their superstar 3-20 going into crunch time. The opposition with three players on all defense teams. Road game seven. And they win it, their third win in Philly

Doc Rivers losing three home games in a seven game series loss is another playoff failure.

If you are a GM of a tanking team, do you try gambling on Simmons here? His price must be all-time low.
I think there are plenty of mid tier teams who would love to take him as their #3 guy. . Like Portland may decide to break it up, but if not I could absolutely see them trying to bring in Simmons as their 3rd guy. Dallas probably the same.

Whoever wins now will be a fantastic story that will result in me being happy for their fans and players. I still have an old Barkley Suns jersey from junior high so I guess I’ll cheer for them.
I have 2, purple, and alternate black

why would dallas take the ball out of Luka’s hands?
Simmons needs a very specific situation to succeed.
watch presti trade kemba for simmons and several phl 1sts

Simmons is gone but they won’t need to staple firsts to him. They just need to find a team that can play him at the right position. Worst case scenario is they have to take back 2-3 role players who are better fits with Embiid.

There are Philly talk show hosts or windbags who are actually throwing the idea out of the Sixers trading Simmons to the Blazers for either Lillard or McCollum, LOL,LOL,LOL!!! If you were Portland would you give up one of them for that disappointment???? Nuts!!!

CJ I would, they don't need a small scoring guard, they need someone who can defend the opponents' best player and pass. Dame can handle the offense just fine late.

Congrats to our @Conigliaro's Potential for their Hawks and welcome to Cancun 76ers fans (not @ them - no need to pile on), the water is warm!

As for Simmons, that was tough to watch. Passing up that dunk cannot happen there - that play will haunt him for a long while. However, assuming he is moved, the NBA seems to have enough teams who could use his skill set without asking him to do anything outside his comfort zone.

The Celtics are definitely one such team - I think Stevens would leap at the chance to get Simmons at a discount but the market may surprisingly healthy. The NBA is essentially a league of redemption.

What a shame the Celtics were so injured all year, and COVID-riddled, and dysfunctional, and bad. Other than all that, it was there for the taking.
It'll be there next year--Philly and Milwaukee have shown they have pretty clear ceilings as constructed, without tons of ways to get a lot better. Brooklyn will always be an ankle or hammy away from trouble as long as that team stays as is.

Yeah by reading these threads you’d think Simmons carries the trade value of Kemba.

He will still command real value. I am genuinely worried that we have a Steve Sax situation though. I don’t honestly enjoy that prospect, it sucks to watch.
He is one of the best athletes in the world.

He took a total of 0 shots in the last four 4th quarters combined. That's an issue but there is something in the water in Philly. Because Fultz was a mess and then he left and stopped being a mess. So maybe Simmons can come back. But taking him on is obviously a colossal risk.

0 shots combined in the 4th quarter over 4 games.

Fultz is still a mess. He’s seriously bad. Still can’t shoot, and doesn’t draw enough fouls. And Simmon’s problems are entirely his fault as he insisted on doing the whole ambidextrous jump shooting thing. We’re reaching the point where it’s nearly too late for him to reverse course.

Not to rub it in on all the Giannis-haters who coincidentally have all clammed up since Game 7, but in a series where Giannis was getting raked over the coals for under-performing and not being skilled enough to win in the playoffs, he averaged 32-13-3 on 57% shooting, and then cleaned out the Nets on the road in a Game 7, going 40-13-5 on 15-24 from the field. People are way too focused on his shooting because its an obvious flaw, that it allows them to overreact and convince themselves that this guy isn't one of the top 3-4 players in the NBA.

I'm not a huge fan of the Bucks, but an NBA final 4 with no Lakers, Nets, Heat or Sixers? Is this heaven?
