I'm not sure what Spurs are trying to do tactically, but whatever it is, it's not working. Spurs can't hold the ball and City are going right through them.

I am watching Winks when Spurs get the ball and he is never presenting himself as a passing option in the deep buildup. He just jogs back and forth without finding space or getting away from a marker. What is he doing out there?
It does feel like Ndombele's passing and creativity from that spot is sorely missed.
And it's not like Winks is out there for his defensive contribution. If he's not getting contributing in possession, he provides no value at all.
This is not news of course but Man City are superbly coached. Their coordinated movement off the ball in possession is so impressive. Every time the ball moves the receiver has multiple open passing options.

Yeah, they all had little of the ball but I was more speaking of how rigid he looked to me. Ive watched very little of Spurs this year because Mourinho ball is often dreadfully boring so I can’t say if he looked about as he always does but it seemed to me like he was not his usual self or at least how I remember him
