    Judge’s March To 62 Homers

AMAIHTMFY, the AL home run record being held by Yankees for over 100 years is kinda cool, especially if it becomes three Yanks in succession. Right now Judge is on pace for 61 in 154 games. That's an interesting thing to watch as well.

We Wish You Well Jackie Bradley Jr. (DFA 8.4.22)

After that hit, on the radio they said he went to left field for his entire batting practice, so he may be working on exactly that.

    Timelord Injury Watch

Different type of player in a different era, but there was this one guy who did something close to what you describe for a while. He was pretty valuable, I think. 18.5 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.8 blocks, 0.8 steals over 6 seasons. Probably too easy for this forum, but I enjoy the...

    RIP Jeremy Giambi

Could be as simple as wanting to preserve the possibility of an open casket.

Hunter Renfroe traded to Brewers for JBJ and 2 prospects

That seems like it would downgrade the defense in three positions, though, as compared to a Verdugo-Kike-JBJ outfield with Arroyo at 2B, and IMO the Sox should be looking first to improve their defense. In LF, Verdugo > Schwarber (who's not even on the team currently), and in RF, JBJ >...

Hunter Renfroe traded to Brewers for JBJ and 2 prospects

JBJ's? Pretty close, anyway. Even if one gives Renfroe a slight edge in arm strength (and certainly his assist total was impressive this past year), I think JBJ is probably a better right fielder than Renfroe overall. Anticipation, first step, hands, situational awareness, baseball IQ, etc. We...

    Red Sox in season discussion

Further, it's possible they're not. There are lots of HBPs in the injury list upthread. Is that flukey or does it have something to do with his stance or approach?

    Mets Continuing To Mets

I'd conclude that it smacks of Cromieism.

    Ties, ties, everywhere are ties?

And don't forget travel (potentially). If BOS/TOR/SEA all tie for the 2nd WC, I agree choosing to be team C is probably the way to go. But then if Seattle beats Toronto, wouldn't the Sox have to fly out to Seattle for the second tiebreaker game? And if they won, immediately back to the East...

    Nick Pivetta

From your lips to Bloom's ears. I bet some Sox fan said the same thing on August 29th, 1990. It'd be Casas, rather than Duran, if we followed the script. But this year's 'pen is a lot better than in 1990, and I trust Chaim Bloom a lot more than Lou Gorman.

    Garrett Richards' simplified delivery

And obviously we can't blame it all on pitcher inconsistency, either. A 10 mph breeze swirling around a stadium could be a tailwind on one pitch and a headwind on the next. That difference in "apparent wind" might have the same effect as a 20 mph difference in pitch speed.

White Sox hire Tony LaRussa as manager
