Yeah, I want to see that motherfuckin' Yankees logo on here.   Gone in a flash!

Report: This is Don Orsillo's last season

I echo this sentiment.  The guy knows his stuff and stays focused on the game, offering terrific insights. An O'Brien/Darling duo would be the best in baseball.  However, it looks like it's not to be.

Is There Any Reason for Taz to Pitch Again This Season?

Absolutely not. With 84 pitchers in the pen, Lovullo (channeling Farrell) decides to use Taz again tonight in a winnable one-run game.  The predictable ensues.

    Bradley: Deal with It.

This has generated some interesting discussion and SH may well be right in that it may not make much of a difference at all regarding the three scenarios he mentions.  Another factor is that Betts is 22 and has just started to play center.  He WILL improve over the coming years, especially...

    Bradley: Deal with It.

If you're going to put Mookie in left, you lose all his defensive value, which is considerable and that's just not worth it. At that point, your best bet would be to trade him to someone else who could use him at second or center, and that would be a shame because he's going to be an All-Star...

    Bradley: Deal with It.

Don't agree.  An outfield of Betts in center and JBJ in right is better than the reverse when you factor arm strength into the picture.  JBJ can be another Dwight Evans and then some in right...a very important position at Fenway.  When you put Betts in right you lose more there than you gain...

    Bradley: Deal with It.

I like having JBJ in right because of his arm.  Betts is best suited to center and Castillo has, so far, seemed fine playing the wall. That seems to be our best defensive alignment, especially at Fenway. There may be parks on the road with bigger left fields (such as in Yankee Stadium) where I...

    Bradley: Deal with It.

I fail to see why the Sox are seen as so heavily invested in Hanley Ramirez.  An outfield of Castillo, Betts and Bradley might be the best way to go.  If the Sox are interested in trading HanRam in the offseason, they would want to play him a lot and hope he gets hot.  They would kill his trade...

Report: This is Don Orsillo's last season

Well, it all depends on his replacement.  As some have noted, there are lots of worse announcers out there, starting with Josh Maurer.  But if someone like Dave O'Brien gets the job, then we're all good. Another little Red Sox drama unfolds.  Lucchino, Cherington, Orsillo....who will be next?

Sorry.  Game 6 against the Yankees.

My Favorite Non-Pedro Red Sox Pitching Performance

You guys have nailed it.  All amazing, time-stopping performances.   1. Luis Tiant  Game 4, 1975 World Series against the Reds 2. Jim Lonborg  Game 2, 1967 World Series against the Cards 3. Curt Schilling  Game 6, 2004 World Series against the Cards 4. Jim Lonborg  Game 5, 1967 World Series...

    Who plays 1B next year?

We're going to have to see how the rest of the season plays out, but if JBJ and Castillo look ready to hit ML pitching, there's no atbats to be had in the outifeld with de Aza around and Brock Holt needing atbats here and there.  Makes no sense to slow the growth of either of the young three...

Red Sox have hired former Angels GM Jerry Dipoto

That does make some sense.  And it would quench my own personal bloodlust for Cherington's head.  I'm not rooting for Cherington's career going down the drain, I just don't want him being the GM for the Red Sox anymore.  Enough already. Also, if a new GM were to be hired, what's the first thing...

Red Sox have hired former Angels GM Jerry Dipoto

Well, Dipoto is going to be in the mix for a GM spot this offseason from several teams so either he's got an OK to back out of this any time he wants to in order to take one of those if it comes up OR they're promising him something as good as a GM gig to hang around.  But Dipoto is not passing...
