    I echo this sentiment.  The guy knows his stuff and stays focused on the game, offering terrific insights. An O'Brien/Darling duo would be the best in baseball.  However, it looks like it's not to be.

    If you're going to put Mookie in left, you lose all his defensive value, which is considerable and that's just not worth it. At that point, your best bet would be to trade him to someone else who could use him at second or center, and that would be a shame because he's going to be an All-Star...

    Don't agree.  An outfield of Betts in center and JBJ in right is better than the reverse when you factor arm strength into the picture.  JBJ can be another Dwight Evans and then some in right...a very important position at Fenway.  When you put Betts in right you lose more there than you gain...

    Well, it all depends on his replacement.  As some have noted, there are lots of worse announcers out there, starting with Josh Maurer.  But if someone like Dave O'Brien gets the job, then we're all good. Another little Red Sox drama unfolds.  Lucchino, Cherington, Orsillo....who will be next?

    We're going to have to see how the rest of the season plays out, but if JBJ and Castillo look ready to hit ML pitching, there's no atbats to be had in the outifeld with de Aza around and Brock Holt needing atbats here and there.  Makes no sense to slow the growth of either of the young three...

    Well, Dipoto is going to be in the mix for a GM spot this offseason from several teams so either he's got an OK to back out of this any time he wants to in order to take one of those if it comes up OR they're promising him something as good as a GM gig to hang around.  But Dipoto is not passing...
