Why the hell did not a single official actually signal a goal for a puck literally stuck inside the net?

I can look past the trips, but those non-calls for boarding are dangerous. That's the kind of shit that just needs to get whistled out if the game.

They covered this on MLBN last night and one of the analysts made a really good point saying something along the lines of "If you realize you made a mistake and you're actually sorry for it, you dont appeal the suspension."

That was actually my thought as well. There's nothing stopping them from being there and being "in the zone" and just making the calls the computer makes in case it doesnt. And you have to imagine there will be plenty of "i would have called that a strike, huh..." and vice versa.

The problem is the consistency. You would need to see how many balls and strikes are called for the same location. If the Ump is "giving them the bottom" (or whatever arbitrary non-balls they decide to call that day) but not consistently, then the hitters and pitchers cannot make appropriate...

As a volunteer who coached Learn to Skate through Peewee I agree with this wholeheartedly. The USA Hockey certifications have a tiny section on Goalie. There is a whole, other certification path focused on Goalie development.

I think the playing up vs down really depends a lot on the individual skater and also the level of play. My son has been a perennial A/B bubble kid on his first years at a given level and at Squirts he was the standout kid on the lower level team and it did wonders for his confidence. Peewee...

I get that contact was going to happen, but are none of you seeing the 2-handed slam of the catchers head into the ground as Voit comes through? I'm sorry, I see this as both dirty and dangerous

Ya, the new rules at the very least state you have to maintain contact with the base throughout the slide.
