    2024 Rotation and Bullpen

Sox SPs are averaging 17.1 pitches per IP this year. If they could get it to 15 that would be huge. Unlike all the other incentives, the importance of pitch efficiency would seem to encourage pitching to contact (and good defense).

    2024 Rotation and Bullpen

Actually looking at it, I would expect Weissert could go tonight. It's been 33 pitches Saturday (longest outing of year) one days rest and 12 pitches last night. I imagine they would rather not use him, but I doubt he is unavailable. Weissert currently on pace for 73 IPs, so we can't really...

    2024 Rotation and Bullpen

You would think Winck, Weissert and Slaten are unavailable tonight. It is admittedly early, but Winck and Slaten are on pace for around 100 IPs out of pen, which seems unsustainable. Sort of surprised they brought Winck back yesterday for the first time on one days rest after throwing 28 pitches...

    SS possibilities going forward

He was significantly positive on OAA last year, and for multiple consecutive years preceding so it appears OAA differs from DRS in this case, whatever that may mean. Surely the Sox have the capacity to determine if Crawford is still a B/B+ defensive SS, which sadly again it seems we desperately...

    SS possibilities going forward

The team should already well understand if David Hamilton or Pablo Reyes is a major league average defensive SS or not. I like these guys, but we can't really be expected to watch another half season or more with a sieve at SS. Maybe add Brandon Crawford to a list of potential acquisitions...

    2024 Rotation and Bullpen

Just staple Criswell to Winck for a few turns through rotation. Who starts is beside the point IMO. Have the two of them cover 8-9 IPs combined.

Nick Pivetta to the 15-Day IL retroactive to April 6, with a right elbow flexor strain. (Bernardino called up)

The update on Pivetta certainly seems encouraging so perhaps all is not lost. At the same time, no point in denying the obvious achilles heel of the team, which many urged the FO to address in the off season, was lack of SP depth. We are 10 games into the season and that concern seems it may be...

Another night of emptying the pen. 4.2 IP from the SP does hurt.
