    April Game Thread

Yikes. I just saw that he came out of the game. Hope he’s ok.

Is ___________ a Hall of Famer?

Well said. I think for me it's also that Sabathia was an AL guy for so long, and on the Yankees... was hard to forget about him. Grienke went to the NL and I stopped seeing him very much but he's been quietly awesome for a very long time now.

Is ___________ a Hall of Famer?

Hah, that's great. And yeah, the number of complete games he threw that weren't quite shutouts is pretty astounding, too. I know the game has changed, etc, but man is it cool when a guy can do that... 7 CG in 17 starts for Milwaukee, with multiple starts on short rest, was just wild. He was also...

Is ___________ a Hall of Famer?

My first thought when looking at the list @ngruz25 posted and asked about other potential pitchers was Sabathia. After looking at his stats, though, I’m surprised at them being a little less impressive than I remembered. Putting aside all Yankee bias, he was impressive as hell for a long time. I...

    4/14- 2:10 PM ET @ MIN: Part I...And II!

Not going to lie, I absolutely did not see this coming. I am very glad to have been so wrong about this team so far.

    04/01/21 - Game 1 of the 2021 Season...

Was totally out to lunch last season, but going to try and get back on the train this year. I have no idea what to expect, but that’s part of the fun. Seems like classic early April weather, but at least it should stop raining by game time. And yeah, have to hope Pedroia’s throwing out the...

    Thank You, Jackie Bradley Jr.

Sigh, another gone. Quite the dramatic remake this team has undergone. I'll definitely miss him; he's one of those guys who I loved more than the stats said I should. Home-grown guys who make amazing plays on the regular are hard to say goodbye to. And when he got hot with the bat, man it was a...

    Happy Truck Day

I don't think my viewpoint on Truck Day this year warrants editing, even if it's not a popular one. I'm not going to derail the conversation further by talking about such things, but my experience is just as valid as anyone else's.

    Happy Truck Day

Hey, I already admitted to my Debbie-esque qualities and put a sock in it! :)

    Happy Truck Day

I like this non-pessimistic viewpoint, both to the world at large as well as the baseball season.

    Happy Truck Day

True. Most other countries have done a much better job containing things, too. EDIT: I also realize that this is not where we need to be discussing sports in the context of COVID, so I'll shut up about that now.

    Happy Truck Day

I hate to be a downer, but I'm having a hard time getting excited for this season. The fact that sports are just plowing along in the midst of this pandemic is a great example of how off the USA's priorities have been. That said, I'm also thinking that I need to take fun and something to look...

Thank you, Petey: Dustin Pedroia announces his retirement

Thanks for posting those, they really are wonderful. I'm particularly a fan of the last one.

Thank you, Petey: Dustin Pedroia announces his retirement

I had forgotten the exact context of Pedroia's "laser show" quote... and the fact that it was in defense of a teammate (Papi, no less) makes it even better: View: https://twitter.com/joonlee/status/1356279141625171971
