They really need to address the pitching staff. As things stand, they're relying on two of Pivetta/Houck/Seabold/Mata. I'm willing to ride with someone from this group filling one rotation slot at least until Sale is ready, but I think relying on two from this group is too much to expect...

My understanding is that the Yankees are now only about $15m under the CBT after the DJL signing. If that's the case, then that might constrain how far they might go on Kluber, IF resetting the cap is important to them. This might be one instance where the Sox have a financial advantage over NYY.

All I can say is that if they are trading Beni they better get a mid-rotation SP back (current or MLB-ready prospect). Otherwise I don't see the point of doing this.

Seems like Bloom has a lot of irons in the fire - Sugano, Odorizzi, Kluber. I'm pretty confident we'll end up with two solid additions to the rotation, whoever they might be. I guess I'd be disappointed if we lose out on Sugano because the offer is just a couple million short, but I trust that...
