    Thank You, Jackie Bradley Jr.

Can't believe the three B's are all out of towners now. JBJ was the best defensive CFer I've seen play for the Sox. Had one heck of a season in Ortiz's final year.

Fernando Tatis Jr. signs 14 year, 340M extension

I think Tatis is the next Griffey. This was a very smart deal. Those Barrel% and Hard Hit % stats vs. the field are eye popping and basically back up the eye test. I haven't been this interested in a non-Sox player since I was a kid. IMO, Tatis will push Trout out of the picture as the best...

Red Sox trade (P) Springs and Mazza to TB Rays for (C) Hernandez

I mean, I definitely said that I think zone recognition is an attribute that requires live game action to improve at the highest levels, it is clearly this players worst attribute as an offensive contributor. Given his apparent defensive prowess and mitigating league factors from the year he...

Red Sox trade (P) Springs and Mazza to TB Rays for (C) Hernandez

But 23 with a big gap year where he faced live pitching sparingly compared to a full season?

Red Sox trade (P) Springs and Mazza to TB Rays for (C) Hernandez

These points are well taken but he is 23 now and his last professional action saw him at a .299 OBP over a full season of PA's. I agree starting him at AA is the move, and from what small blurbs I can find on his defense that part of his game seems extremely promising. But, if he had a horrible...

Red Sox trade (P) Springs and Mazza to TB Rays for (C) Hernandez

Ah, yes, let's not analyze the player, what's the point? Nice snarky post though. Big contributor to the thread. -- Anywho - this is the excerpt that google has to his MLB.com scouting report, but unfortunately the link to the full report is dead and the other I found is behind a paywall...

Red Sox trade (P) Springs and Mazza to TB Rays for (C) Hernandez

Sub-.300 OBP at high A ball last time the minor leagues existed. 23 seems like a late age to develop his zone recognition. I think "legit prospect" is a tad strong. Hoping people here know more about his defense, couldn't find a lengthy scouting report.

Benintendi to Royals for Franchy Cordero, Mets RHP prospect Josh Winckowski, and 3 PTBNLs

I agree. I also think one ancillary benefit that comes with having a lot of starters in the high minors with significant "reliever risk" is that we might end up with some young arms in the pen soon. We need health in the rotation and we all know Sale's optimistic timetable is July and that...

Felger and Mazz - Creating False Naratives one day at a time

I guess I don't have an ear for strategic trolling and prefer sports talk. That might put me in the minority.

While the dust has not yet settled, I would prefer to be the team ending up with Benintendi at this point.

Felger and Mazz - Creating False Naratives one day at a time

I don't know if the trolling business model will sustain when the city is not in an absurd run of dominance that all four major teams got in on.

You mean in terms of the future? No doubt the Pats are in a tough spot.

Felger and Mazz - Creating False Naratives one day at a time

I wonder how long dumping on the accomplishments of local teams over the past two decades is going to generate good ratings. They seem very lazy.

    That Time BB Was Wrong

It is dumb. It turns me off from sports talk entirely and I grew up on sports talk. I know people around me find it boring, so I keep it to myself when commuting. I could listen to banal out-of-market sports talk on a road trip for days, but we'll see, maybe I'll find something more interesting...

    That Time BB Was Wrong

This feels pretty spot on. The national media will remember this as the crown jewel of Brady's career and Bill's legacy will be diminished in the eyes of national pundits looking to stoke their twitter followers. That part is a bummer to me.
