I remain resolute that this team can win the next game and prolong their season. Because its still the one and only thing that matters. Win.the.next.game.

At least one of Joe West, Keith Foulke, or Tony Clark needs to be in attendance.

What I loved most about Game 6 was the relentless pace. Every rebound, the Celts would turn and look, find a guy and pass. Someone on the Heat made a shot, we'd inbounds ASAP.

More of that, please.

If the Celtics do pull off the miracle comeback, what does DeJesus get for being the game thread starter that brought us there?

Play every possession with heart and ubuntu
It really feels like it’s this simple. From the jump last night they looked like the Titans after the “NOT ANOTHER YARD” speech.

Just keep that energy and the talent will take care of the rest. The pitfall is when they forget the first part and just hope for the second part alone.

Edit: Are we due for a Molloy-reffed game? He is the guy with the little boy haircut and punchable face, right? Ultimately I’m glad we got the Davis game last night at home.

We've been here before.

In 2004, we headed to Yankee Stadium and needed to find someone to start the game (we all know how that played out). We had to overcome a pitcher who couldn't move and an exhausted bullpen. We had to survive a yankee rally, cut short by Slappy McBluelip's signature play, perhaps the most desparate cheating attempt we've ever seen on a baseball field. It was because they were scared---two and a half games in, they knew things had changed and they were out of answers. Keith Foulke finished the game on fumes, and we were headed for game 7.

We were here against Milwaukee last year. Jayson Tatum put up 46 points and carried us back home for game 7.

We were here two weeks ago against Philly...we trailed 73-71 to start the fourth. We weren't shooting and the TV narrative was "is this Jayson Tatum's signature failure?" But Tatum had other ideas, reeling off 16 points in the fourth to get us the win and send us back home for game 7.

The Miami Heat are up. But they need one more win and we haven't let them get it. They have been targeting today to get it---they pulled starters early in Game 5; they are hoping Vincent can return; Butler talked this game up post-game. They need one win. They are showing fear. What do we say to the god of death?

Not Today.

Today we play defense like we did in Game 5.

Today we make good decisions offensively.

Today we fight for the loose balls.

Today we battle for rebounds - as a team.

Win today. Send us home for game 7.

We've been here before. We know the way out.

After G5 Butler said something to the effect of the team was all smiles and looking forward to winning the series at home. Fuck that guy. Beat them and put sad frowns on their faces especially that asshole Pat Riley. Hammer the Heat.

In Brickell today visiting my BIL. I don’t know of a Boston Bar in Miami, but I don’t care. I just want to see sad, desperate, angry faces wandering the streets after the game tonight.

Make it so.

The Celtics showed that if they put in the effort, they can be a disruptive chaos engine against the Heat.

Unlike the Yankees, they should absolutely test the guy on the other team with the bum ankle, early and often if he's out there.

They Hyatt Regency and the JW should have some non-locals at their bars
Plus then you’ll be close enough to see the sad fans leaving

Right Here
They don't need a two game winning streak. They need two one game winning streaks.

Only one team wants to fly back to Boston to play. They win... tonight.

There’s a basketball game tonight. Might as well try to win it. Humiliate the Heat!

Brogdon status? Kind of hope he doesn't play
Why can't he be our bloody sock guy tonight? It is Game 6, after all.

The real glory of sports is being knocked, faceless, emotionless, and beaten. And then you come back. That's the pureness and the essence of its glory. We can say that's one play, we can say that's one series. But for what is a comeback? It's merely a setback. A setback, even, that we then did our homework, both as one, and as a collective, we learn the lessons therein, and then we moved forward.

As is life, as it is what necessitates the nature of a comeback: Things can and do, always go wrong. In those moments? Keep our hearts strong.

May we be mentally strong, both in our sense of selves, but also in the dreaded situations that allow us to put that mental strength into powerful action. Nobody gives us that power by default, as we simply must take it. Plato once opined in similar prose; to paraphrase: A man's measure is what he does with power. And with that power, once seized, it shall NOT be relinquished. As today is a road game, today's ultimate weapon of power will be silence. More specifically, the silence of the shock of the home crowd. Shock, that they refused to in admit, in honesty that their Heat were and are the lesser team. All the while, they will not be shocked by the deceit of their lesserness. And so shall it be.

WIN.
