Hunter Renfroe had a nice assist in the 9th, gunning down Adam Fraiser trying to stretch to a double.

There
This Dodgers/Cards game is pretty entertaining. LA jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first, then STL scored 6 in the 3rd on the back of four home runs, including 3 in a row by Yepez/Gorman/DeJong. Then in the 6th Freddie Freeman hit his 300th career HR, a grand slam on which the pitcher did the ol' point up in the air like it's a pop-up move:

Currently 9-8 STL in the bottom of the 8th.

Currently 9-8 STL in the bottom of the 8th.
Now 16-8 Cards after bombs by Mr. Quick Step Contreras and Gorman. The Cards are now playing up to their talent.

Old Rays type win tonight. 1-0 over MIL behind a McClanahan gem. Plenty of time to have a warm glass of milk after the game and still be in bed by 9.

The Cardinals and the Dodgers have arguably the two best uniforms in baseball. So when does MLB schedule them to face each other? On the weekend during which every team has to wear the same olive green caps to honor those who served in our Armed Forces sell yet another alternative cap to enrich MLB's coffers.

It's hard to predict blowing a 4-run lead. Unless it's James Karinchak entering the game with the bases loaded and Pete Alonso at the plate.

It's incredible how every ball hit on the ground against Clase this year makes it through the infield... but Karinchak just needs to go back to Columbus for a very long time. Bringing him into the game in that situation was the worst mistake Tito has made in years.

It's way early, but Mitch Keller has become a must watch pitcher, and may be pitching himself into Cy Young consideration if he keeps this up.

Wow, John Schneider accidentally made a second trip to the mound in the 6th today, and ended up having to pull Manoah sooner than he wanted. That's kind of hilarious.

Ryan Weber closes out the Reds for a Yankee win. Feel like he has about the worst stuff of any major league pitcher I have ever seen.

As if Cleveland's lineup doesn't suck enough all on its own, the Mets will be doing something today that's never happened in the history of baseball – starting both ends of a doubleheader with a 3-time Cy Young winner.

Not exactly a base running clinic at Citi Field today... Josh Bell had your basic single to right field but for some reason thought he could make it a double... instead, he was thrown out by so much that he was tagged out trying to retreat to first. He was quickly outdone in the bottom of the inning when Starling Marte decided to wait until he had taken his lead off first base to look down to strap up his sliding mitt... he didn't even see the throw that picked him off.

The Mets announcers said the run they just scored was the first time they have scored first in 14 games, that is fucking crazy.

Boom! Jose Ramirez with a 2-run HR off Robertson in the 8th gives Cleveland a 4-3 lead.

Ottavino really started that whole mess of an inning.

Blue Jays falling apart in the 11th again, 6-3 BAL now, trying to finish the sweep.

Toronto is in the middle of a 17 game stretch with no off days vs Atl, NY, Bal, TB and Minn. Things might get worse for them down at the Trop before they get better.

Starling Marte comes in as a pinch-runner in this one (puts his sliding mitt on before stepping off first this time)... and he still gets picked off but the umpire blew the call and they don't overturn it on replay. I'm not sure how there was no view from the outfield side of first which should have been clear. Naylor's foot partially blocked the view from the home plate angle, but it was pretty clear that Marte's hand hadn't gotten past his foot to the bag by the time the tag was applied... and of course, Marte scores the go-ahead run a couple of minutes later. If the Guardians don't screw themselves, the umpires will. This weekend has to be rock bottom.

The two views they kept showing on ESPN were completely inconclusive because of Naylor blocking it.

Also sorry about the sweep today but that Lindor check-swing bullshit was prototypical CLE. :)

Sounds as though something might have come up during the internal review that sealed his fate

Toronto wins 20-1 today vs Tampa, admittedly with the last 8 or 9 vs a couple of position players...
The biggest loss in franchise history, wow.

“There wasn’t much relief to be had anywhere Tuesday, as the Rays lost to the Blue Jays 20-1.

The 19-run deficit was the largest in franchise history, covering 3,996 games over 26 seasons, and the 27 hits were the most they ever have given up.”

I think TOR is just pissed at everyone, two very solid teams the last two years and zero playoff game wins to show for them, and they lost five division games the previous five days.
