It doesn’t make me feel any better about losing to them, but at least it doesn’t make me feel worse either. If they lost in 5 to Toronto I would have been pissed.

So FLA is just going to win every OT game? Team has a damn horse shoe up there ass.
I thought this for a while, but now I think they are just really good. Tkachuk is a total grinder and Bob has been outstanding. The team always seems a step below in talent level overall but just plays their asses off from whistle to whistle.

They are def good, but OT games are coin flips. To win 5 in a row is just great luck, but well you can't win the Cup without insane amounts of luck.

There is some Montreal 1993 DNA somewhere. I think they won 10 OT games including when they nailed McSorley and pulled out of what should have been two home losses to open Finals.
God that was such an aggravating playoff season. Started with "May Day" and then the Pens flopping to tee up an easy Habs win over a mediocre Isles squad and then McSorley's stick bailing them out. And of course every goddamn OT going their way.

Jeez. You cannot skate into your own goal when you don’t know where the puck is. That was not off of Oettinger. He skated it into the net.

I’m just rooting for the West, honestly. In order of preference:
Dallas
Vegas
Carolina
Nuclear Winter

Florida

4 OT almost without a goal and then two goals in less than three minutes in the next game. Go figure.

Question is whether the worm will ever turn. Six OT wins in a row is something. I mean, FL is good, but right now that horseshoe is WAY up there.

Tkachuk is an animal.
This is why it’s so frustrating being a hockey fan. And also why it’s so crazily fun. I mean… this Florida team sure looks like a “team of destiny”. Tkachuk is playing like the best player in the world. The Bruins don’t appear to be the only team unable to stop him.

If it wasn’t for the fact that the Bruins should have won that first round series, the Panthers would be a really fun story for me to root for.

I don’t even think Tkachuk is why the Panthers are doing what they’re doing. Bobrovskiy has spent nearly four seasons coasting on a $10m AAV contract, and once he came in for Lyon in Game 4, he turned the clock back. He’s at 17.3 GSAE through 12 games, a rate of 1.336 GSAE/60. The first is BY FAR the highest of the playoff goalies, the rate second highest behind Jack Campbell. Now, if Bob turns back into a pumpkin and they still win, then we can carve Tkachuk’s name onto the Conn Smythe.

I went to game 5 of the Edmonton series and the Knights have a really good and formidable home ice advantage. The fans that I interacted with are Knights fans, not hockey fans. All decked out in their $300 customized Knights sweaters but have no idea what icing is. But it’s a good barn and a tough place to play.

3-0 leads are tough, but this series isn’t over. Usually when a team is up 3-0, it is because they are substantially better. That is why overcoming a 3-0 lead is rare — a worse team winning four in a row just doesn’t happen.

Other times though, a team can go up 3-0 even where the teams happen to be very evenly matched or even if the other team is a tiny bit better. Sometimes a coin flips heads three times in a row.

I think this series is the second case. Very even. Florida has just happened to win three but I think the remaining games are coin flips. Still very hard to win four coin flips in a row — not much more than six percent. But if you wanted to identify a series where it could easily go six or seven despite a 3-0 lead, I think this is one.

Well, yeah, but that’s why I mentioned Bobrovskiy’s advanced numbers after Game 2. Last night’s game alone added 2.2 GSAE. Or, if it were Playoffs Ullmark in net instead, Florida loses last night. Full stop. It’s easy to get all the breaks when your goalie is basically stopping everything, kitchen sink included.

Not me. First of all it would open 2019 wounds and also another Cup for Barbashev and Pietrangelo.

Also I have no use for that cap cheating group. Hey that's a miraculous recovery on April 15 by Mark Stone.
