nowhere near NY is why you get it. If you were in NY, you'd be blacked out and would need the local channel.

Yes, MLB.tv and extra innings are free this year for DirecTV customers. DirecTV sent out emails about it about a week after spring training started.

I signed into DirectTV streaming about a month or so ago. Like it more than FUBO simply because of the Turner stations (hard to watch NBA without those). Plus when October rolls around, MLB playoffs are usually on TBS.

What's also great about it is that the app is readliy available on the Smart TVs (Samsung) as well as Firestick. Since it's streaming, I can watch NESN while traveling.

Not sure what deal you guys are getting, but DirecTV has already billed me the first of 6 monthly installments of $24.99 the same as every year. I suspect this is some promotion given to Sunday Ticket subscribers, as l was given a free Sunday Ticket subscription last year (as an Extra Innings subscriber?). Worthless to me as l watch no football and l then had to cancel its automatic renewal for next season at $200 or whatever as specified in the fine print- so watch out for that.

I am also being billed for Extra Innings as I always have. We also got NFL Sunday Ticket for free last year as a loyalty reward according to the email we got. I also know to watch out for the automatic renewal. When we first got Direct TV years ago they gave us NFL Sunday Ticket for free for signing up. I caught it that they were going to automatically renew us at the eleventh hour and cancelled just in time.

Uh, we have Directv, watched games the first week, and now they are blacked out. So, maybe some of you are the lucky recipients of some kind of glitch.
By the way I got no email from them with this news. So some of you perhaps have a better package?

It has been speculated up thread that they were NFL Sunday ticket subscribers who were given the free MLB package. I think we were given the NFL one last year as we have been subscribers of Extra Innings for years. Or they could have been given Extra Innings for being new subscribers as we were given the NFL one when we first signed up to Direct Tv 7 years ago.

Never been a Sunday Ticket subscriber, no free Sunday Ticket last year. We've had DirecTV for 12 years so not a new subscriber either. We do have their top package however.

Wait, you aren't blacked out from them? I am about the same distance and can't watch them on anything. The channels aren't even available locally to me.
nope that is weird my area is hard core STL they even have a carevan that comes here in late jan to our mall

i been to 2 cardinals games

the first one was in 92 aga the reds dont rem a lot about it just seeing lee smith pitch in the 9th inning
the 2nd also in 99 aga the reds again where mark mcguire almost bumped me out of my rent a chair on the field about a hour before the game and we had to leave after the 7th inn to beat the night rush the stadium was a hour from the old hosptal i was at shriners hospital both times
in 92 i had plates put in my legs because my right leg is a littie crooked plate is still in my leg they had to break my right leg and i was in the recover room for 8 hours
in 99 i had my hamstrings lenthern it was 4 weeks of pain because i had to re-learn to bend my knees
