Leeds-Soton kicks off soon, a true relegation scrap with brand new managers on both sides. Feel like this could be marvelous end-to-end action or a turgid snore.

Either way, USA FC is starting 3 Americans in the heart of the set up: Aaronson at the 10, Adams & McKennie at the double pivot.

JWP doing his best Pirlo impression. Not sure what else Southgate needs to see.

don’t know if I’ve ever seen more whiffed kicks than I have in the first 20 minutes.

Looked very soft that VAR decision. Arsenal should be a goal up IMO. Foul by White in the Box, i watched the replay several times...I'm not convinced.

Everton are getting more action in the opposition box than I've seen for a while. But they are so shite in front of goal. One wonders if there's anyone in the under 21s that knows where the goals are.

Well …he grabbed his right arm so he couldn’t use it it punch or catch the cross. Mind you, I’m not sure if the left hand punch was a deliberate or an emergency choice.
I must be going blind. I never saw that. In my defense i've got the Arsenal game on my lap top and the Everton game on a big screen. Was it a no brainer?

Also, I know this ain't new, but making Liverpool play Palace, which is a nightmare to get to and from, in the late kickoff, is another PL pisstake.

I assume you are talking about the Liverpool away supporters ? When has the PL ever given a damn about away supporter’s travel issues?

The supposed rationale … blame BT Sport

Why Palace v Liverpool kicks off at 7.45pm on Saturday with no lunchtime game

Yes. Ellis Simms, who is now the only other striker in the senior team, was recalled from his loan at Sunderland where he had 7 goals in the first half of the season. He has the size of an old school 9 but is a better player facing the goal. He’s done ok in cameo duty. I expect him to sub.

Stanley Mills is the other name that comes up- attacking midfielder/false 9 type. I expect before seasons end, he trains with the first team.

Lewis Dobbin and Irishman Tom Cannon are others with promise but they’re loaned out.

Evertons football people are generally doing a better job but the failure to get a striker was malpractice. Even a below-replacement-value big bodied 9 would make Dyche ball work better than the 5’7”Maupay.

Everton had a lively first half. Onana had the best hence with a header that was well saved by Emi. Other shots from good chances have been too tame.

The more I see the replay (they just showed it again) the more obvious it was. White used his arm to wrap up the keepers right arm to keep it down.
Still don't think it's as obvious as all that, seen worse not given etc etc, but I have put you down as a potential sniper come the glorious revolution.

Graet save by Pickford.

Edit. Everton are comically bad in front of goal. One could say they need a tap in, but they'd miss a tap in.

oooh: pen to Villa.

Ings scores twice in 3 minutes then Rice adds a 3rd 5 minutes later as West Ham exit the relegation zone

Villa go one up.

Anthony Taylor has just given Doucoure a yellow for catching the Villa player with his hand as he runs...i dunno if that's a yellow. And i don't long for the days of Chopper Harris either.

it's hard to put into words how bad the attack of Everton are from a goal scoring point of view. I'm not sure what Dyche can do.

0-2 to Villa, Buendía smashed it. Assured finish that Everton would kill for.
Just pointing out to my daughter that Everton have been the better side by a good distance but don’t have anyone who does that. Not even technique so much as mentality.

Which is why I said it wasn't new? I'm just not going to refrain from criticising something thoughtless that makes supporters' life difficult because it's been going on a while.

Although the championship is actually worse.

Painfully soft red card brings Atletico down to 10 men against Real Madrid. Correa with an elbow into the chest off the ball by Rudiger, who goes down as if he's shot.

Gimenez snags a goal for Atleti to improbably put them ahead 1-0. 10 minutes plus stoppage time for Real to level.

Equalizer for Real, 18 year old Alvaro Rodriguez off a corner.

That was an awful performance. The back 4 look like frightened kittens. Keita can't get up to speed and can do nothing but foul, and foul and foul. Expect thats it from him today.

Id introduce Fabinho or Bajetic right away. They are desperately in need of energy and composure.

Should be 2-0 Palace

Bajcetic should be starting every game and playing as much as possible. He’s 18 and excellent. He’s pretty much the only positive for Liverpool this season

Pretty entertaining start to Chelsea Spurs. Already some controversy. Sterling had a penalty shoot waved away and Thiago Silva could have been sent off for violent conduct.

Attwell’s refusal to show any yellows either way is making this game turn physical and someone is going to get injured. Visibly losing control of the game right now.
