And then Davies and Emerson produce that sweet goal.

Also, Sonny---20 starts, 1 goal. 2 games off the bench, 4 goals.
Yeah, I really did not see that coming. Spurs got a little more aggressive in their positioning and movement in the second half while remaining defensively solid. I don't think we ever saw the wingbacks trying to make runs beyond the forwards in the first half.

West Ham offered nothing in this game. They showed up to play for 0-0 and when that didn't work they had no plan B.

Moyes tinkering with a new formation with two GKs. One guarding the line, and the other up top of the 6yd box. Moyes trying to challenge Pep's creativity in the league. Take that 3-2-5!

There are teams threatened with relegation who don’t have good players, like Soton and Bournemouth. Then there are WH and Leeds, who are not City but they certainly have some class on the pitch. Shouldn’t be anywhere near trouble.

Playing hard isn't mutually exclusive with not being good. Although their players are pretty talented, just inexperienced.

They're trying to do a model where they sign good young players and sell them on, but they look like having gone too far and the lack of prime age players will get them relegated.

Spurs are playing an extremely defensive lineup with Davies and Emerson as the wingbacks. They are really lacking a cutting edge. Just not enough threats.
Quoted for hilarity.

Spurs didn't spend $50M on Porro for him to play right wing back, they paid $50 for Porro's presence to fix Emerson Royal.
I wish it weren't this way, but 'tis.

Sonny needs to come off the bench for a couple of weeks. Let Richy stretch his legs and give Spurs a proper shithouser at each level of the formation (Romero, Skipp, Richy).

Good analysis.

They went out and spent for experienced players for Nathan Jones, and then sacked him...after going for a youth movement for Ralph...before sacking him. Hopefully, Ralph's former assistant can wake these guys up

I feel like if they were really 'for' Nathan Jones they'd be Championship lifers with nicknames like "Mad Dog." Plus their somewhat expensive January signings are a 21yo and two players who've never played in a big five league. That seems like you're betting on talent more than experience.

I guess I was just referring to Orisic. Thought the others were older. I did see a story that Jones was trying to get more experience during the January window
