They’re not very good. They make a lot of mistakes. Every game. All season long.
I can totally understand getting a bang-bang play wrong. The speed of the game is so incredible. But when you have time to consult with all the refs, and they misunderstand the basic RULES....that I cannot fathom.

768 holds have gone uncalled in the NFL playoffs over the last 3 weeks.

On a massive third down conversion, a hold is called.

Magnificent.

Then how the F do NFL refs - especially when they have time to consult with replay - get that wrong?
The sympathetic description is "fog of war" but I think the reality, given the NFL, is that league execs are in that room and are only somewhat concerned by the rulebook. Cynical, I know, but they have the track record they do, so....

that flag came out right away, seemed correct.

I need clarity still on the reach out. How could replay blow that if CFB is correct about the rule

I’d like to think if I were Patrick Mahomes, I’d ask the crowd to knock off that chant.

They just ruled that the ball moving backwards was due to the contact of the defender. So they get full forward progress. I disagree but it’s the only way to overturn

I think, CFB can chime, in either they completely blew it, or they determined that at the precise second the ball was farthest forward his forward momentum was also stopped and thus the play is dead there. Even without the whistle to make it so....that is, I believe, the only way you could land wehre they did

That seems like an incredibly hard case to make, what with seeing him, like, bend his arm at the elbow to bring it back and whatnot.

I’m sure it’s happened but I don’t remember seeing a lot of Gs get busted for taunting

But I thought forward progress wasn’t reviewable

2nd and 10 and just a Kelce crush.

This is a huge drive for KC. The arm stretch call has altered the game in a major way.
