Josh Dobbs is expected to start for the Titans against Dallas tonight. Signed from Detroit's practice squad a couple days ago. Yeah not going to end well but the game doesn't matter to them, soo....

Edit: The line is -14 for Dallas. On the road. Haha.
Thanks for mentioning that. I originally picked Tenn +10.5 in my weekly pool. I just changed it to DAL, although I suck at making picks, so there's that/

Blaine Gabbert and his brothers having fun on jet skis in Tampa end up rescuing survivors of helicopter crash:

The brothers arrived at the crash to find a sinking helicopter and multiple people in need of saving.

"The youngest kid had just came up and said he was pinned in there and I asked if anyone else was trapped and then I called 911, tried to remain as calm as possible," Gabbert said.

He was able to get two of the people out of the water and onto his jet ski, while his brothers helped a third person. A fourth occupant was helped out of the water by authorities, who Gabbert said arrived in record time.

Fwiw I’ve been told by my friend who works for a prominent agent that rumor is Vrabel is out with a loss today and McVay will be replacing Payton on fox
Man, that seems like it would be a bad decision for Titans unless there are behind the scenes things.

This is his first season below .500

Also, Mark Davis has offered up the stadium to host, if needed.

https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/raiders/raiders-open-to-allegiant-stadium-hosting-afc-title-game-2707828/amp/

Raiders owner Mark Davis said the stadium is ready to host the game should it come to that, pointing to Allegiant Stadium’s grass field and climate-controlled environment and the ability of Las Vegas to accommodate an influx of fans even on short notice.

“We are here for the NFL if they need us,” Davis said Friday night.

No stadium will be needed since the Bengals' fuck you tour is going through Glendale. Yes, I realize this post added a lot.

You would like to choose a neutral site where the inconvenience is equal for both teams, and I'd say the Bills going on essentially a cross-country flight feels more like a road game (nevermind the Chiefs having more experience at that stadium). You'd also take both teams well out of their time zone.

I'd argue playing this in Atlanta (to choose a team definitely out of the playoffs) would be more equal footing for Buffalo and KC.

Gillette should be available
Man that would be hilarious if Gillette got chosen and the patriots skanked their way to the afcg. That won’t happen and I’m 100 percent sure the league will choose a venue of team that didn’t make playoffs. Detroit or Cleveland seems to be the best options. I’m sure if Pitt doesn’t make the playoffs that will be included into the mix as well.

That would be a pro-Bills crowd, I believe. Which I support. I am in favor of Denver as the site.
If you want elements in play as opposed to a dome, which I wouldn't object to with the 2 teams involved constructed to play in the elements, then Chicago is a little more equidistant between the cities?

But that's in a perfect world, and there are probably events, staffing, the ownership vs leasing etc. of each stadium the NFL is looking at. Do the Broncos own their stadium? I believe the Bears are beholden to the city for their stadium.

If the Pats make the afccg they will play on the road and they will have to deal with the flying monkeys.

I was saying Denver in part for the snow, but mostly because they hate the Chiefs.

On his on volition I assume?
I don’t have that info but he fought hard for that contract extension to go from $8.5m to over $14m. My guess would be it’s mutual with the Rams retaining his rights once he was courted after one year in the booth. Total guess though.

McVay should leave. The Rams are set up horribly for years, which will ruin his golden boy status.

He can go to the booth for a few years, start a family if desired, then come back as a knight on a shining horse into an ideal environment. It’s a no brainer.

Is he being fired or is he stepping down?
Schrager on Simmons's podcast last week really seemed to think McVay was going to leave because he needs a break. His wife is Ukrainian and has lots of family there, so he's dealing with some tough family circumstances as well as the usual rigors of running an NFL team. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Just reported now. What a mess that org is.
He was literally hired because they got a ton of backlash when it leaked they wanted to hire McCown no matter what, and Flores added them to his racial discrimination lawsuit. Lovie wasn't even in the original list of interviews, it was 100% a PR move to get past the Flores stuff, now they'll interview 3 randoms including 1 minority then hire McCown.

Makes a lot of sense. And no one will remember this season in five years. I could even see him coming back to the Rams after they bottom out and rebuild.

Or Vrabel if he shakes loose.

Wasn't McCown an Easterby binkie? I wonder if that ship has sailed.

Or Vrabel if he shakes loose.
That would make a ton of sense.

He was a McNair binkie was the word, he was still the pick this offseason even after they pushed Easterby to the back. Lot of good reporters said that McCown had the job until Flores filed suit, and it was decided to wait a year. This was after they hired Culley allegedly with no intention of keeping him past a year. Maybe Caserio convinces McNair otherwise (though not sure Caserio's job is 100% secure) but McNair is going to want McCown.
