They're the defending Champs with their core returning intact. There's really no one else in the west playing well, I just don't see how anyone could count them out.
nobody should be counting them out. Their TOP6 is arguably the best in the league and they have the assets to find high-quality bench rotation players

Kerr is an excellent in-game coach

With Horford (and Rob), the Celtics can win games with suffocating defense, in addition to offensive fireworks. With both guys out, the only real path to victory against good teams is burying them in 3s, which they proven to be pretty damn good as this year, but when the 3s don't fall, it gets really, really hard to beat quality opponents. 1 of 82.

Not sure what this is in reference to but I was at the Dec 25 1985 game at MSG. Celts lost a 20+ point lead and the game against the Knicks. I also got engaged that day to my first wife. I won't tell you what I lost.
Lol. I mean my point is the two best Celtics teams of my lifetime had nationally televised embarrassing losses and there was hand wringing among some of us.

I took a fair amount of good nature shit from Knick fans seated near me that XMAS day, but said to them words to the effect, "you got your gift today but I'll be watching Celts-Lakers play in June." I mostly had it right.

This loss is insignificant for the team. Its going to hurt for me. No tears - I am the idiot who decided to breach enemy lines.
That was a disappointing loss. Particularly in your neck of the woods where the Tatum can’t beat the Warriors trope lives on. Looking forward to the rematch in January.
