I love that the Yankees keep getting eliminated by teams they hate:

2022: Astros
2021: Sox
2020: Rays
2019: Astros
2018: Sox
2017: Astros
2015: Astros

I will say though, I'm not looking forward to the fact that the World Series will be Phillies vs Astros. But then again, that's WAY better than Phillies vs Yankees.

I'm not crazy about the Phils, but I'm gonna root for them over the Astros.

The MFYs were only 4 wins away from joining the 2004 Sox as the only team to comeback from a 3-0 deficit to win a series. So close.

The last six seasons the Yankees have made the playoffs each year, with 91, 100, 103, 33 (COVID), 92, and 99 wins. Twice they were eliminated by the Red Sox. Three times they were eliminated by the Astros. In none of these seasons did they even reach the World Series.

It's really too bad.

OMG Costas just referenced the Patriots taping the Rams' practice before the first Super Bowl. It's just utterly irresponsible on his part.

Fucking Costas ruining the moment by referring to the false Tomase report about the Patriots taping practice, in the middle of a long-winded discussion about the Astros trash can stuff.

He referenced Deflategate too.

Incredibly, the only thing the Patriots actually did wrong was Spygate, which he failed to mention.

Did you know that the last time the Yankees were in the World Series, it was versus the Phillies in 2009?

The Phillies get to celebrate winning the pennant after 13 years, while the Yankees get to extend their pennant drought.

Here
99 wins, won the toughest division in baseball by a lot. I don’t see why he should be fired.
He will 100% get canned. 99 wins…all that talent and swept in the ALCS, and he’s so many years in with no title. He’s gone.

Liza never sounded so sweet
Weirdly, the Toilet stopped their whole, “Liza for losses, Frank for wins” thing a while back.

When I was at Game 7 in 2004 (humblebrag) Frank came on after the last out and I remember my dad and I thought it was a mistake.

They never really looked back. It’s Sinatra for every game now.

Then again, it's not surprising the media gets upset whenever the Yankees lose, considering most major media outlets are headquartered in New York City.

Costas with a dick move implying the Astros and Pats will always be tarnished by past scandals Sore sport loser.
I think what he was actually saying was that while people point to those things as reasons for those two teams' success, that's off base because THIS MUCH success can't possibly be explained by those events.

Of course the supremely annoying thing is that the two events he mentioned vis-a-vis the Patriots weren't even real things.
