I wonder how Herro’s stats would look if he had to play again starters the majority of the time. Great payday.

A useful if flawed player and someone Miami could not replace, so I get it....especially with the cap rising.

But boy, he is NOT a $30 mil player in the way any of us think of it! It sure makes the Barrett deal look better, and that was probably part of the benchmarking here. I personally wonder if Poole isn't better than both, but size hurts.

Wow. Not a bad payday. Smart's speed-dialing his agent ...
PointZ pay, defense is for chumps champs. Marcus went to RFA and could barely get a nibble.

When Strus started draining 3s galore last Fall Duncan's contract went sour quick

The Celtics are lucky to have the JAYs putting up 25 a night and playing the other side of the ball. Surrounding them with defense first, well-rounded players will be Brad's blueprint going forward

This is hilarious (but I suspect it's a parody account given the "ll" in "Centrall"): "REPORT: Draymond Green got mad at Jordan Poole in practice because Poole called him a “Triple Single” after scoring on him."

Poole and Draymond both have reasons to be anxious -- one is hoping to ink a life-changing contract before the season starts and the other is facing the possibility of being gently shown the door after this season -- and they are both likely jet-lagged from the Japan trip, but this is not an ideal way to kick off the season.

"League source" Graymond Dreen feeding info to Chris Haynes:

Draymond Green was apologetic in aftermath of the altercation with Jordan Poole, but there was a buildup stemming from teammates noticing a change in Poole’s behavior throughout camp with the guard on the verge of securing a lucrative extension, league sources tell

If I were Golden State, I'd be glad that Poole has that much confidence and simultaneously concerned about investing that much money into someone dumb enough to pick practice fights with Draymond Green.

Here
That’s pretty bad, I’d call it a sucker punch, despite the shove. Unfortunately, it’s an impressive punch, given how off balance he was, as well.

Yeah he KO'd him, he is lucky Poole didn't break his jaw (or Green break his hand).

Wow, that was not at all what I expected the punch to be like. He fucking clocked him. Amazing that no one got injured

My barometer on this incident is from other current and former NBA players not the fans. It will be interesting to get their response to this, if we get any comments at all.

I mean, that's assault. Like, in nearly any other profession if you do this to a coworker you get fired at the minimum and cops are probably called.

That's a vicious punch. That should be a serious suspension. Kills me the Celtics lost to this dipshit. Go ahead and talk about this punch on your next podcast, Draymond.
I joked after the Finals Game 2 that the NBA had turned a finals game over to a deranged elderly man who ran around tackling people.

Turns out my joke didn't go far enough to match reality.

Seems pretty cut and dry. That was a punch that could have done some serious damage. I don't care if Poole went full diva on the team, it was a ridiculous action for Draymond to take (and a pretty ironic one for the trash talker not to be able to handle return fire). If that happened in a game with more eyeballs on it live, you're talking a big suspension.

There's something kind of funny about the players circling the wagons around the leaker being the problem here.
It's why I couldn't care less about what the players, especially those who weren't even there, say on this. Clearly, we know practice fights happen all the time but that doesn't make it right or justifiable. If Marcus Smart popped Brogdon in the face like that, I wouldn't feel ok about it because Perk told me this stuff happens and/or Brogdon was mouthing off or whatever.

That video makes Draymond's camp leaking bullshit about Draymond being apologetic and blaming it on Poole's lack of effort after signing an extension even worse. I don't care if Poole told Draymond his wife tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios, that punch was vicious. Would love for this to be the end of the Draymond era but I'm sure it won't be.

Watching the Finals, the question my mind went to was "Is Draymond even an MLE player anymore if anything near the NBA rulebook is applied to him?". And I landed on "probably not outside of GSW". Who would trade for him? Lakers for Westbrook?

Pretty telling that after the incident, Kerr, Iguodala, and Steph all forcefully came to Poole’s defense. This was before the TMZ vid had leaked, but after Klutch shill Chris Haynes had sleazily tried to victim-blame Poole (implying he was asking for it by being, like, young and cocky or some shit). Their comments about Dray, by contrast, were a lot more measured.

Meanwhile, in Bob Myers’ presser, he kept intoning how relieved he was Poole wasn’t seriously hurt, which should have given us an inkling of how ugly the assault was. I mean, fuck, Dray, you have 50 lbs. on the guy — if he shoves you in the chest, can you not just shove him back in the chest? I honestly cannot fathom what evil demon possesses someone that strong to haul off and punch another person in the face (unless, like, their life depends on it).

And what’s even shittier is, you know he would have restrained himself if instead of 190# Poole it were, say, David West or Boogie Cousins.

Who knows what Lacob’s thinking right now. but when you’ve lost Steph, Andre, Kerr, and Myers…

This thing just makes me really angry.

Complete fucking bully move. He runs up on Poole, knowing as an instinct Poole will push him off to give him free reign to clock him. And it was 100% a sucker punch. Dray knows Poole and the type of guy he is, he knew he could pull that.

Just gross.

This. We've all played pickup hoops and probably every single one of us has had some kind of skirmish where people angrily push each other. That is what I was expecting when I first saw this story so I initially thought nothing of it. That punch was a Ron Artest move, a clearly crossing of the line and downright criminal act.

He continues to selfishly take the attention away from an absolutely astounding decade-long run from Curry.

This and the Trae Tweet are telling. Fans, especially those of other clubs already largely despise Green so the reactions here make sense.

However when other current players are expressing these views, its a real issue.
Now we just need KD to weigh in…rooting for maximum chaos here

The fact that KD actually went on Dray's podcast a few years ago and they openly discussed their fights and split-up--and blamed Myers and Kerr for things ultimately not working out--is so weird to me.
