Maybe we should have considered that kids from Salt Lake City might literally puke and run out of gas in the humid Swamp. Utah’s run defense in the 4th was putrid.

You can take Brian Kelly off the sidelines but his spirit still lives! ND not even trying to win.

Same old shit Notre dame. They do not belong on the same field with the top 5 programs. And I don’t think ever will again. They fail every fucking one of these tests, no matter who’s coaching them. So sick of it.

Both games ended up being a bummer late. I kinda wanted to see new USC, but I guess we're stuck with Boise - Oregon St.

Happy with my Cuse…. Manhandled Louisville 31-7 in the opener. Looked like a pretty competent team for a change.

That's your takeaway from a road game against #2 in the country that they led late in the third quarter?
Yup, Because they never break through, and close these games out. It’s been decades of this now. And when the buckeyes needed it on the two second half touchdown drives, they drove it down the ND defenses throat with ease. Almost like “enough of these pests, let’s flip the switch on and end this”. I know this loss won’t hurt them in the polls too much, but I have zero enthusiasm about yet another good try/moral victory. And if they played them again in January, when the buckeyes have all their rust knocked off, I have little doubt they’d get taken to the woodshed. They are no closer to being able to beat the true 3 or 4 national championship contenders than they have been over the last decade. I hope Freeman can get there with his recruiting over time, but they have a significant distance to go to bridge that gap, IMO.

Why is there not a full slate of games today? How hard is this?
Just taking a WAG here. Because it's Sunday and the NFL has a full slate of pre-season games today? We do have FSU in Death Valley in Baton Rouge tonight.
I've never been a FSU fan, but fuck Brian Kelly. He should have been banned from coaching after that poor kid got killed on his watch at ND.

So if I understand this correctly, the "transfer portal" allows a kid to bolt from a team and go somewhere else and not have to sit out a year, correct?

So it's like free agency; you can go wherever you want whenever you want then?

This will hurt the monster schools that stack up all the 5 star recruits; if a kid at Alabama is the #3/#4 receiver and hardly gets on the field, he'll leave and go start somewhere else, which hurts Alabama as if there are injuries, their depth is shot, but it helps the kid as he gets to showcase his talents and it's good for the school he goes to.

College is basically semi pro football, so I guess this is a win?

More like the other way around - it's going to turn second tier schools into feeders for the big time programs, especially when you factor NILs into the picture.

Jordan Addison was probably the best player at Pitt since Aaron Donald, so USC bought him with a $3.5 million deal.

Good point; so a kid at a second tier school who's a star will go to a big time program.

It goes both ways. Alabama's backups transfer out, star players from other schools transfer in.

It's a huge win for the players. It's probably a wash for the programs. It's a loss for the coaches, as the recruiting burden is significantly higher (other college players and their own players in addition to high school players). I think it's a loss for most fans, but that obviously depends on what you care about as a fan.

FSU is moving the ball better than I thought they would

Many Seminole fans were happy to see our OC(Dillingham) go to Oregon. I watch almost all of the games but don’t watch in depth enough to have a strong opinion.

Nice to see FSU at least competitive against SEC talent.

I'm sure LSU fans will be very patient with Brian Kelly.

At this rate, BK is going to be run out of Louisiana by Halloween. He may not make it to the Bama game. That may be a 35 point spread.

Kelly might figure this out eventually, but it’s not going to happen until he fires Mike Denbrock. His Cincinnati gameplan for Alabama last year was brain dead. Saban will be even more relentless against the Tigers.

Can't wait till LSU gets into conference play. He'll wish he was back in Indiana.
They got Bama, Auburn, Ole MIss, Arkansas, Aggy, Vols, and Florida on the schedule.

They'll need some serious luck. September is easy though.

LOL. They didn't do the soccer advantage
