It feels like the Twins gave up a dozen prospects today to stay the 5th best team in the AL.
This is what I've been thinking this afternoon. As a Guardians fan, I would have liked to see them do something, but doing nothing was better than the Twins trading at least 7 prospects for the opportunity to exit the first round of the playoffs again. None of their deals will singularly sink them, but that's a lot of depth that just vanished.

The Rockies just.... man.

@nickgroke

Asked about the Rockies being the only team to not make a deadline trade, Bill Schmidt said: "We were also the only club to sign a player to an extension at the deadline; 29 other clubs didn't sign anybody to an extension." Well, no, that's not true. But honest mistake.
Austin Riley and Joe Musgrove were each extended by their teams at the trade deadline.

I didn't look that hard but I'm not sure who you would trade since they extended Bard. Cron's got another year and isn't making that much and Blackmon probably isn't hitting enough to interest a team, esp since he has an player option.

Trading their 37 year old closer rather than extending him is probably the main thing. They won't be good next year so I'd have traded Cron too, the extra year would net more value, I'd think.
