Joe Musgrove holding the Brewers hitless through six, but at 87 pitches, he's going to need a lot of help from the Padres bullpen.

I totally forgot the Kluber no hitter last year. The Wells and Cone perfect games - the preceding no hitters for the Yankees - are more vivid to me despite occurring almost a quarter century ago in each case.

Reid Detmers optioned to AAA, about six weeks after his no-hitter. Tough business!

There have been 316 official no-hitters in MLB history. Reid Detmers has thrown one. Wade Miley has thrown one. Jake Arrieta has TWO. Freaking Alec Mills (career era of 4.83, career whip of 1.32) has thrown one.

But neither Roger Clemens nor Pedro Martinez have ever thrown one.

115 pitches through 7, seems like it would take a miracle to complete it. Maybe combined though?
I remember HOU having one of these against NY when they were still a NL team, also on a Saturday afternoon I believe. Without looking it up, I want to say Bob Knepper started that game?

I will go further, I don’t even care about single pitcher ones and would prefer in most cases that my team’s pitcher gives up a hit so it’s no longer a factor about when to pull them.

Eh, it’s ok to see something exceptional once in a while, even if it’s not efficient.

Yeah, I'm actually saying the exact opposite, the W/L results are what matters. HOU outhit NY 11 to 6 Thursday night but I'm pretty sure they didn't go home happy.

To be clear, I'm not trying to convince anyone else that no-hitters don't matter, just saying I personally don't really care about them, my team or not.

Yea, and it also matters a shit ton to all those in attendance. It is fucking rare for a reason and absolutely a reason to celebrate.
I agree completely. I had never seen a no-hitter in person before. Still haven't been to one in person at the MLB level, but have now seen two AA no-hitters in the last 12 months (Matt Brash combined no-hitter last year, and Connor Jones this year), and even at this level it's a pretty special event.

I was at the Mussina near perfect game. That was incredibly tense. No hitter games just feel different. Combined no hitters a little less so but still fun.
