Lineup of games (chronological order):

(5) Las Vegas Raiders at (4) Cincinnati Bengals (-5.5)
Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC
Mike Tirico, Drew Brees

(6) New England Patriots at (3) Buffalo Bills (-4)
Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET on CBS
Ian Eagle, Charles Davis

(7) Philadelphia Eagles at (2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-8.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET on Fox
Joe Buck, Troy Aikman

(6) San Francisco 49ers at (3) Dallas Cowboys (-3)
Sunday, 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS
Jim Nantz, Tony Romo

(7) Pittsburgh Steelers at (2) Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5)
Sunday, 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC
Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth

(5) Arizona Cardinals at (4) Los Angeles Rams (-4)
Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN/ABC/ESPN+
Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick

Byes: (1) Green Bay Packers and (1) Tennessee Titans

IMO this is the new best weekend of the NFL year rather than the divisional round. 6 games beats 4 games and only one of the big boys per conference has a bye, rather than two.

For the five non-Pats games I'm going all chalk with the home favorites.

Leave it to the NFL to capture TV viewers for basically the entirety of a 3 day holiday weekend when most people are stuck inside because of the pandemic. I guess the right expression is “Can’t lose for winning”?

Also interesting timing that New York’s legalization of sports betting went into effect last week just in time for Super Playoff Weekend (TM?).

Lot of potentially good games on the schedule, beginning with what should be a fun game in Cincinnati who, as we know, haven’t won a playoff game since HW Bush was President. Here’s hoping at least one of these games is a classic.

As was posted earlier, the Bengals last won a playoff game in 1991. The first text message was sent in 1992. No one has ever sent a text message about the Bengals winning a playoff game.

That fact should be obsolete tomorrow night.

Paul Brown was still alive in 1991.

I believe in the sadness factory. It would be fitting for the Raiders to go on a run given Gruden’s ring is really part Dungy.

The biggest mistake Flores made in Miami was not fully embracing the tank strategy, playing Fitzpatrick, and missing out on the #1 pick and Burrow.
