That Antonio goal… I’m not even mad. I’m glad I got to see it.

edit - ha, posted before reading this exact same phrase above.

I’m still overall glad to have him back there helping against Antonio, but Zimmerman’s long balls have been brutal so far.

I need to see more angles on Steffen's positioning and reaction, but I'm not ready to say that Turner wouldn't have saved that.

I think the thing that impresses me most with this team is an ability to maintain possession and being able to create chances through a buildup. It seemed like the successful teams under Bradley were more all about the counter only.

People claiming this looks like a high school game need to watch more Serie A.

What subs are we hoping for to get the team going again? Obviously, Pulisic, but hopefully he doesn't come out and do the thing where he just tries to dribble through traffic.

Just getting out of work, I guess I would say from what I've read in this thread we went up early and then Antonio hit a wonder goal, has they been carrying play otherwise?

I don’t think any keeper in football gets a hand on that one. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap.
Thought the midfield was very low energy compared to the Mexico match. It’s been a bit helter skelter as a result

Vuvuzuelas are a crime against humanity.

USA is playing very narrow without seeming to create many overloads centrally. Need the fullbacks to join play more and for the midfield to be a little more patient to bring them in. They keep running into blind alleys

Somewhere Chris Wondoloski just poured out a brandy to Decodorva-Reid. Holy balls, you will never see someone miss a sitter like that.

This game has trouble written all over it. We are poor but give Jamaica credit, they are doing some good things.

This is the CONCACAFy away game where you grab the point and get on the bus before they can take it away from you.

Is there any chance there’s a single supplier of Vulvuzuelas worldwide that I could spend my entire 401k buying and burning to the ground?
I don't even get it - if it like particularly annoyed the other team or something it would make sense, but it's just annoying to both sides

Anyone who didnt see a spirit less effort here is crazy. Huge emotional home win over your rival. Quick turnaround to a far away land, in an empty stadium against a team who who is out of it, but will be gunning for you because you are the USA. Totally predictable. I thought the early goal might mitigate this, but this is a young team, who if you offered them a tie before the game would have taken it, shook hands and went home.

This whole idea of analyzing players psychologically and figuring out letdowns and all that is just really crap in my opinion.

This is CONCACAF. It has been ever thus. It's a fucking grind every step of the way.

There are cycles where the USA has qualified top of the table where you take out a couple of extra time headers on the road that were just inside the post and you're looking at the possible inter-federation playoff. This is what this is.

This is where Berhalter makes me nervous. They just haven’t had it tonight and that may be insurmountable but what has he changed? Are they trying to change the shape or attack any particular areas of the pitch?

There are times you just have to change it. Make the other team uncomfortable. Maybe he’s happy with a point here and it isn’t worth the risk but I’d like to see them try to snatch these points. It does no good to beat Mexico and draw here
