I’m guessing it’ll be four hours of goal post moving, and trashing the opposition. SOP for these guys. “The Browns are a joke of an organization, wait until the play a real team”, followed by cherry picked examples of how a better team will take advantage of Mac’s mistakes that he got lucky on because the Browns are a joke.

Based on how good they looked yesterday, this is where they pivot into the following:

- OK, now the team is good, that's great. So, we can safely say that if they don't get to the AFC championship, the season will have been a waste and devoid of meaning.
- An exhaustive examination of the roster and which guys they absolutely have to sign, but won't. Because the Patriots are cheap.

Mazz: Eye-opening, comprehensive, dominant win. Browns are not great but not a doormat. Changes outlook of the season.

Felger: As far as 45-7 wins go, that was straight up as it is. Nothing fluky, wasn't the Browns puking all over themselves. Only 1 short field, marched all over them all day.

Murray: Separated themselves from the pretenders in the AFC. Only nitpick is Harry on the field = run.

I don't listen much to F&M but often watch the evening show that he does with Michael Holley and I must say that I find that, on that show anyway, Felger has an entertaining, interesting and non-homer approach to commentary that I appreciate. He's willing to praise the Pats. He might dismiss yesterday's game as one in which the opposite team just didn't show up, but he'll give Mac the praise he deserves for a very good game.
And that's a big problem with the Felger and Mazz show. Outside of the show each of the hosts can have far more entertaining and informative personas, but get them together for this show and it's lowest common denominator trolling.

Which means he was listening to Zolak shouting that same thing on the radio during the game. Nitpick of a nitpick: Despite knowing that Harry = Run, they ran it down Cleveland's throats anyway.

Ted Johnson just brings nothing to the table. I know he has a strained relationship with Belichick and the Pats organization, but every Tuesday when he is on, it's always not-so-thinly veiled criticisms. This is the guy who, a few weeks ago, insinuated that the relationship between Judon and BB was strained because Judon was working on special teams a little bit. This morning, Rich mentioned that some have compared this season to the 01 season and Ted just basically laughed it off, despite the amount of similarities that there really are. The only thing he agreed on was both teams started 1-3 and got better as the season went on. Wow, what expert analysis.

And Fred (who I love, don't get me wrong) is so anti-Pats, and while yes, I know that's part of his shtick, and he's a Jets fan, it's become even more passive aggressive than normal. He convinced himself the Pats were going to be awful. He was out yesterday, he is back today and does the whole 'Patriots are good, they should be a playoff team' thing he's been doing, but his tone is such that it's super dismissive of anyone who actually does believe in this Pats team a bit, especially with how weak the AFC is looking right now. I'm rambling a bit here, but Tuesday mornings with Ted and Fred (hey I rhymed!) kind of suck for me. Anyone else feel the same?

The big strategy seems to be that after a big win, since there is very little to criticize the team on, they put through the most over the top lunatic fanboys for the callers (ex. callers that are saying this is 2001 all over again and they're not gonna lose the rest of the way, callers that claim Buffalo sucks, etc...), try to present them as representing the entire fandom, then claim the fandom is out of control homers.

Mazz wanted the Red Sox to pay Noah Syndergaard $24 million for 1 season. Nevermind the fact they'd have to give up a 2nd round pick for 1 year of a pitcher who has thrown 2 innings since 2019.
"Look at all the money they saved by not signing Mookie................and now we know why they traded him; Henry wants to buy the Penguins!!"

"You're absolutely right Mike!!"

I tuned in for a second yesterday and Adam Jones was on. This was the first thing I heard him say:

“I think they take a step back next year….by at least two games.”

“I’m not ready to say Bill is back yet.”

Pats are 9-4, 7 game winning streak, #1 seed as of now. And this f’n joke is talking about how the 2022 team is going to be worse. Really sickening to even listen to. I couldn’t turn it off fast enough.

Let's say they win 12 or 13 games this year. They take two steps back and win 10 or 11. Is that bad? Most teams would take 10 or 11 wins every year. Fuck Jones. His trolling makes zero sense and that's what separates him from Felger.

They might be a better team next year but have a worse record because if they win the division they are getting road games at Green Bay (that one is true no matter what), Kansas City, Arizona.

But, yeah, par for the course with these clowns. Don’t enjoy any success.

It is kind of amusing to listen to when Jones's hAwT tAkEz are even too much for Felger to embrace.

To be fair for the couple minutes I listened Felger seemed genuinely annoyed at Jones's idiocy.

Tuesday night I made the mistake of listening to Jones for about a minute. He said that the Pats are going to have a 'Baker Mayfield' problem with Mac Jones because "They clearly don't trust him" and so resigning him is going to be a major issue.

I caught a few minutes on Tuesday on my way home from work. It was really bad. He was doing the whole cherry picking thing. Terrible game plan by Bill, if you exlude the 64-yard run then they couldn't move the ball. If he trusted Mac at all and threw it, could've put the game away early and not be in a position to make a 4th down stand in the red zone.

Jones seriously has the most vomit personality of anyone ever in the Boston media. I am really willing to go that far. He is pure vomit.

The amount of hate email Felger read off at the end of the show that was directed at Jones and to a lesser extent Arcand was remarkable today.

A wonder how Jones can manufacture a reporter's question to BB where he praises Lawrence Taylor into BB tearing Brady to shreds and taking all credit for Brady's accomplishments. Best course of action with Jones is to not get upset, to not talk about it online (I've said too much already) but to just completely ignore the troll. He solely says it to get attention.

Jones is an art form. Once you understand that he is not trying to be objective, that he comes to work every day looking to put a negative spin on everything, then the only way to look at it is to ask "How imaginative was he?" Sometimes I am greatly amused by his creativity. Other times, not so. I would never get upset because he's negative. It's like getting upset with a cat because it has fur.

Nobody mentioned it today, but Brady has been successful in 2 different organizations. BB might have thought the Brady portion was self-evident. Taylor only played for 1 organization.

Sadly, Felger and Mazz announced today that Guy in Boston recently passed away.

Awesome caller. Kept it short, to the point and hilarious.
It was truly a remarkable transition from paying tribute to Guy to the Patriots are guilty of deflategate cause Tom didn’t provide proof or address it enough in Man in a Arena.

I just heard that.

They're ripping the Patriots to shreds; Jones is worn out, had a noodle arm, is hurt, the defense has regressed, Judon had disappeared, they've lost 3 of 4, 10-8 if they lose is not a success, the off season will have a lot of question marks.

These three are something else.

They will spend all week bashing the Pats to death, claiming Buffalo is a much better team... then next week will bash the Pats for not beating Buffalo despite declaring the Bills a strong team and the Pats a bad one. Gotta love their logic. I've abstained from listening to them this week. It's been nice.

And if the pats win they'll either say Buffalo choked or say that Buffalo was never that good to begin with

Felgah had the Covid last week. Said it was mostly a big stomach bug and hit him hard. (although he still did the show each day)

the 30 seconds I listened to today Mazz essentially said "now I'm just making this up, but what if Judon isn't hurt like everyone thinks. What if he's getting different guidance from Steve and Mayo and that caused him to suck at the end of the year?"

And the hosts are trading Mac and #21 for Rodgers, Watson or Wilson since you need elite QB play to cover up for this defense.
I listened to these two imbeciles yesterday for about 5 minutes, Felger was yammering about how not keeping Brady in retrospect was a "huge mistake" and they would have been better off keeping him, they could have "maybe" still drafted Jones, or Mills later on and there is your QB of the future.

Yeah; no.

This team wasn't going anywhere in 2020 with Brady, nor 2021with him and that shitshow of a defense, Brady or any other QB can only "cover up" for the 2021 defense so much, they are beyond "covering up."

Just clueless.

I mean, Brady did take the 2017 and 2011 defenses to the Super Bowl and they were much worse than this version by every metric.

If Brady is on this team they probably aren't playing Buffalo on the road in the Wildcard round to begin with. After that, who knows.
I'll defer to salary cap experts, but if Brady had stayed, what would the roster have looked like in 2020 and how many free agents would they have been able to sign in 2021?

They now have a QB on a rookie deal for three more years, we'll see what they do and how the roster takes shape.

I still say letting him walk was the right move at the time and two years later, it still is.

What he did/is doing in Tampa has no bearing on what he would have done here.

They assembled an offense of all stars around him last year and this year.

Felger will never get it through his cast iron head comparing New England and Tampa is apples to hand grenades.

Good for Brady, he got what he wanted (yet another SB win and a chance for another), the Patriots got what they wanted (their QB of the future).

That wasn't even my point, all I'm saying is the 2021 defense was a lot better than some other defenses Brady had with the Patriots. It's not like they were necessarily destined to get destroyed by the Bills in the playoffs in that exact same manner in any other scenario, so there's a chance he could have "overcome" them. I'm not even arguing the "they should have kept Brady" point.
