I'd take him over the latter 2, not sure about Mitchell. Probably, because of the height advantage. He's a guy I never thought of adding to the Jays, but he really is close to a perfect fit. I'd take him over Simmons too, obv.
There's an alternate universe where the Knicks made a godfather offer for the Demon Kyzuzu and Danny drafted SGA in the '18 draft. And last year, rather than missing 28 games with a fourth degree hippocampus strain, he helped the Celtics win their 18th title as he combined with the JayCrew and Marcus to form the best perimeter defense in the NBA.

When people say they have "interest in Kyle Kuzma" they mean like in order to dump even worse contracts like Buddy Hield's?
Well the report was that the Spurs were interested in Kuzma as part of a DeRozan sign & trade. DD is about as mediocre as it gets in terms of stars, and the Spurs are in desperate need of Fs. Sadly Kuzma would represent a major upgrade to the 4 spot (which should tell you how dire things are in San Antone).

Lakers throw in a 2nd?

But yeah, I guess the Spurs are desperate for live bodies.

Can't blame them for asking, and I would guess they are asking for that level of offer from everyone for a while. But in the end, it just feels like they have to trade Simmons and so the question for me is whether they want picks as a primary form of currency in return (in which case they need to make the deal tonight, as they are a win-now team) or players (in which case they can wait and continue to keep asking price sky-high to see if anyone happens to meet it).

Ostensibly, the Warriors are in a good place but as each minute ticks by, they lose a lot of leverage. Simply put, those picks are far less valuable to Golden State than they are for some other teams and once they turn into actual players, it might actually be a negative - in the competitive sense - for the team. If they cannot get a Beal or a Lillard, Simmons is kind of nice consolation prize. Of all the deals being discussed in the NBAsphere, Simmons to the Warriors seems like it has the most realistic chance of happening. Just my .02 of a Dodgecoin.

76ers are thinking it's 2018 or something.
Or Morey is thinking that the Warriors need to move those kindergarten slots as much as the 76ers need to move Simmons. Frankly, I could see a deal that looks exactly like the one mentioned above but less one of the picks or with some form of draft capital for another year. If Golden State makes those picks for themselves, their big three may have some things to say in the coming days.

Getting positive value for RWB seems like not a terrible piece of business.

I assume if the 76ers do get some greatly reduced version of what they're requesting from the Warriors there would have to be a 3rd team to flip assets with. Blazers maybe?

I don't think I would trade a 2nd to "upgrade" from Carter to Shamet, but maybe I'm irrationally down on Shamet & he's not actually bad at basketball?

I have this feeling that Brad is going to put his stamp on the franchise tonight and say goodbye to Jaylen.
Of course Washington needs to say this, but about building around Beal, per Woj tweet.

Woj: This is a trade Washington wants to make with Bradley Beal in mind, creating some salary cap flexibility for the future to add talent around him, sources tell ESPN. The idea of returning to his Los Angeles roots has been appealing to Westbrook.

Wow, I gotta say, I think Buddy Heild is a much better fit to help the Lakers than Westbrook.

The Lakers will be what Westbrook, James, Davis, Tucker, Caruso whatever they trade Schroeder for, a MLE guy and a bunch of minimum contract players?
I love that fit actually, Westbrook can run the offense all game and LBJ and AD can save more energy for crunch time. They had Schroder in that role last year and I think Westbrook will do it way way better.

Agreed, health concerns of course a huge factor, but this is potentially terrifying.

As a fan of basketball, drama, and basketball drama, I love that deal. I’m also glad it gets Kuzma out of LA so people on tv will stop acting like he’s good.

I just....Westbrook playing at full speed, all the time, years and years, incapable of slowing down and playing focused...

Now teamed with lebron who plays at a snails pace like 99% of the time...i just cant wait to see it

I think Kuzma is a fine player. He will never be an all-star, and is probably best served as a 7th guy on a good team, but he has a slick offensive game and his defense has improved from gross to almost passable

I’d be shocked if Beal wants to still stick around.
They're getting rid of ball-hog RWB and bringing in a new coach, KCP, who's apparently a good friend of his, and some other solid vets. Seems like there's something to build on there, no?

It's really an ugly fit. Beyond the pace, can you build a great offense in 2021 when none of your top 3 guys are + outside shooters? Plus every year that goes by seems tricky for Westbrook, who still derives a ton of his value from his athleticism. It's an intriguing possibility just to see these three guys on the same team, but it feels at least 2-3 years too late.

Even 2-3 years ago.

I know the lakers will look awesome at times next year but this is not going to end well. I dont how many times we have to bend over backwards to blow Westbrook before people realize at the highest levels, his style is not going to work. He's also shown repeatedly a refusal to alter his game in anyway to win despite aging, playing with different stars, etc.

It just seems weird.

I don’t know of many ball hogs who have led the league in Assists during the last 3 full NBA seasons.
