Look at these bullpen ERAs:

Barnes: 2.68
Ottavino: 2.75
Sawamura: 2.65
Taylor: 2.70
Hernandez: 2.67

Incredible consistency.

And then the outliers:

Whitlock: 1.54
Andriese: 5.70
Although his peripherals aren't as great as the era, Workman does have a 1.29 era as a member of the Red Sox this year. And his velocity is going up as he pitches more. By my count that's seven - (seven!) - quality bullpen arms, with an eighth coming with the addition of Sale and potentially Houck and the subsequent reshuffling that will happen to the entire staff.

The pen is a strength. If Sale can come back strong (a big if) and another quality starter is added internally or externally, the Sox will have nothing short of an excellent staff. Considering the state of things in 2020, that's remarkable.

At least Brice did what he was supposed to do- finish the damn game. Surprised Cora had the infield in when he came in- at that point another run or two didn't matter that much. Instead of one or two, it became 4.
